I have been thinking about adding this for added security.

how do you guys feel about Lojack?

does it really work? do any of you have first hand experience?

Seems like a good idea if you're willing to pay for it. I haven't heard of this one, but have heard other's like it that are pretty goo. If you have the funds, and are worried about your vehicle, it wouldn't hurt to have it.

Search. Lojack is nice to have i would love it if i could afford 600 or so whatever it costs now. IT would be nice compared to a normal alarm. But smart thieves know what do to do if you have lojack. There are typical areas where its hidden and such.

ohh thats cool as shit. dude thats def worth 600 dollars, thats almost a guarentee that if ur car is stolen youll get it back. tho its not a guarentee that ull get it back in the same shape or with the same parts...

oh well fuck that then between 600 to get it, 20 monthly fee, and how many police departments really have it? i wouldnt think very many do

as bmxican said, i work for them. there is NO monthly fee. you can have inspections done if the car was stolen and recovered, $70ish but other than that you dont pay anything after buying it.
theives dont typically go looking for the installed unit, saying it installed in a typical location is a half truth, sometimes they are depending on the installer but they can be (and are) installed anywhere. if a theif suspects the car has lojack they usually ditch it and watch to see if any police show up.
also its true about it being useless if your local police dont have the tracking system. they should or else they wouldnt sell it in your area but i would ask questions just to be sure. if you see cop cars with those 4 antennas 2 foot tall in a square shape on the back the cop car has the tracking system.
also i think if they dont find your car in 24 hours or somethign they refund you the money for the system, dont quote be though i dont sell just install

My Mom's EX came with LoJack...but apparently because it was so old...it went invalid. She tried claiming it on the insurance, because she had the card, but they did followup and said it doesn't work or something.

I'm sorta curious to try and figure out where the wires are.

Thanks, good to know there isn't a montly fee.

I've heard from different sources that there was but there website says there is not and I guess you just confirmed it for me. I guess I just gotta confirm with my local PD to make sure they actually work with lojack and have the tracking system.

I also did read up about that full refund if they don't find the car within 24 hours. Hopefully one should neevr have to recieve that refund.

i dont think lojack will add security, but just allow one to recover it more quickly.

id personally install a beacon or GPS on the car so if it does get stolen or lost then i can go over there with my posse and kill people. plus the police are too slow to act especially if the car ends up in a ghetto.
