Got into an accident

.... Got into an accident today. I was in the left lane going straight on Union Turnpike in Queens, NY. This Nissan Quest attempts to make a u-turn from the CENTER lane and bam. I tried to brake, ABS even tried to help alittle, but I still hit her. I was not even driving fast or anything, she just randomly decides to turn like that. Turns out she has no U.S. license, only an International License. She had two kids in the car also, but nobody was hurt.

Now for the questions. The car was not driveable. It starts and everything. When I try to drive in 1st gear, it grinds loudly from the passenger side front wheel. When I throw it in reverse and go at it, it grinds twice as loud. I'm assuming an axle broke, I'll have to wait til tomorrow to find out.

sucks that you wrecked, but hey, everyone is ok, and from the sounds of it, ull be getting another one, so theres no "total" loss to speak of.

if the frames not bent why part it out? doesnt look that bad even an axle isnt that bad unless somethin was bent in the suspension. goodluck!!! lemme know if you part it out too hehe

Thats not frame damage, I seen frame damage, Thats a bent radiator support. And bent suspension. Looks like axle popped out also. Dude weren't you fixing the car today?

Drove out to sears to get that 1" breaker bar, never made it...

It doesn't look that bad. At worst you might need a new tranny... $300-400 and you're back on the road.

waiting on the police report to get her insurance info. Wonder if they'll pay to fix it or salvage it
