how much should a new clutch cost?

I called today and they said $800 at one place, but i also got quoted $350 at another.

My clutch is slippin so bad, i have to hit 5-6k rpms to get the car moving. gonna try an get it in the shop tomorrow but dont have much money. dont have the time/tools to do it myself.

what is a good price to get it done?

Figure for an OEM clutch you're looking at almost $300 just for the clutch/pressure plate/TO bearing. It is a lot of work. I'd say $350 sounds too cheap....what kind of crappy ass parts are they using? I think 5-600 would be reasonable. A dealer quoted me $1100 6 years ago
