I've been going to the gym for a week now, started last saturday. I'm doing alot more cardio than usual to drop some weight but also strength training to keep tone and build some more muscle....I benched 225 yesterday at 3 sets of 10 reps which is good because I really havent been lifting lately. I'm gonna try and stay at 200 with more reps so I an tone more and get ripped quicker.

Getting ripped is all in cardio... the high rep/low weight thing is a myth, it's why crunches w/no cardio doesn't work

i've heard that also but I beg to differ slightly but non the less its no use to be all ripped but be weak I think with my cardio and weight workout should achieve weight loss, getting ripped and also increasing strength....it did all those for me back in my prime.

holy shit.... 135 and 60 reps... i'm frickin doing 50 reps at 90-100. I'm a swimmer though... we don't really want to bulk up... just lean condensed muscle.

benching 455 is not really in my everyday workout routine so its more of a trash talk ego booster type thing lol. I never really go above 300 even though i can but 225 for sets of 10 is good enough to build lots of strengh. I just started back on my cardio like 4 weeks ago an its kicking my ass. Givin the fact that im 6ft tall 285 an over the winter when comps roll around i get up to 300 even thats a solid 300 not a sloppy big mac 300 lol. i have lots an lots of workouts that i can hook some of you guys up with. a lil something like this

                  135x100reps, 185x75reps, 205x50reps, 225x25reps

this is a lil chest workout i do on big rep days.

It seems that we have a similar body type....I'm 6'1" - 6'2" and I'm like 290lb(or close to it) but its nothing near to flabby fat guy's bod. I just started my cardio last saturday and it is kicking my ass plus its way harder because I have really fucked up knees so that limits the kind of cardio exercises i can take part in. Seeing that you might have some more experience in this area, give me some pointers how to get real big and chiseled arms and chest. And also what low impact cardio exercises would be real good workout? I already have my routine but i would love to see what you recommend

100 reps??????????????????? How long are you in the gym???

Gemini try an exercise bike, or if you can, swimming. Both low impact and very good. I switch it up between biking and running but I'm pretty light (160-165#) so my knees don't mind.

i would really recommend speed walking on a set incline, or riding the bike, swimming is another good one to but since you got bad knees just like me from football right ? i wouldnt do any heavy running not saying that you cant do it just not as much. whenever i get back to work ill write a lil routine an see if you like it sound good ?
