Husky and Craftsman is what I role. I have a few things from Autozone, but nothing major.

I've yet to brake any of my Husky tools, I fucking love my ratcheting wrenches.

As for craftsman, I break sockets and ratchets all the time, mostly sockets tho. Just go back into Sears and ask for a replacement. It's that easy.

Invest in a set of ratcheting wrenches. They will be one of your most valued tools.

Breaker bars suck. They break easily.

Find yourself a quality ratchet, and a huge cheater bar. Problems solved.

I just pull the tube off my jack...and slide it over the ratchet.

ya i just get a regular tube and slide it on the rachet, no breaker bars for me.
I want a set or ratcheting wrenches, but they're new so i will wait untiln the price drops or i find a nice sale.
where do you guys find/buy your husky tools? i have heard really good things about them, and i would mind getting something from them if i needed them. Also, dosnt Husky also have lifetime warranty? where would you exchange them? im pretty sure its not as easy as craftsman
Also for you canadians, Isnt mastercraft a really good brand? I know there are a couple there with lifetime warranty, but i dont remember the names.

personally, i like the duralast and powerbuilt line mainly because they are easy to replace and ive used them quite a few times for jobs and they've lasted me.

im also not afraid of breaking them so i use them for everything.

we have snap on at work, however the snap on truck doesnt come by often and we have some sockets to turn in

well I bought a 104pc set, has both metric and SAE,What I liked about it,was the 12pt deep sockets,And I had no wrenches I hate wrenches, and u can get a cheap wrench set. Very basic set up.But I love it.

They did fuck up,they gave me 2 9/16 reg sockets,I was suposet to get 1 9/16 reg 6pt and one deep 12pt socket.Im gonna call cusotmer sevice tommarow and see what they say.

                    here they are http://www.sears.com/sr/javasr/produ...seBVCookie=Yes

dont call them, just go back ot the store with everything set up and the receipt and show them they messed up, they will exchange it for you. They messed up on my 263 pc set too. I went back a week later explained to them and they just exchanged/gave me the parts that were missing.

I get my Husky tools from Home Depot.

Ratcheting wrenches have been out for a few years now. I doubt the prices will drop, unless there's a sale going on.

costco has a good set of ratchet wrenches. brand is cheap, but the wrenches are of quality, i have had mine for about 1.5 years and they still work as if they were new, i think they only cost about 20.00 bucks for the set

but spend a little more on Gearwrench and you will get better quality

bumping to see if ya'll still felt the same about these tools.

i've been attending automotive school for 5months now, and am tired of using the schools tools. nothing is ever there when i need it. so it takes two days to replace something that should take only an hour. plus i could be getting a new job i'll need them.

i get a discount from snap-on for attending school, but dont think it's very much. and the dealer use to come around twice a month. havent seen him in a while. i feel i getting a lot of pressure from the teacher to buy snap-on. he's got a huge box with every tool ever needed.

so has anything changed in the quality of tools the last 3 years?

                              Its pretty big... About 50%..

For snap on get the dual 80 ratchets under discount while you can.. One of the bests tools you will notice quality wise...

If you don't have a full time job in the industry that pays well DO NOT buy a big snap on box... Terrible finical decision.. WAIT... Not to put you down but you don't even know if this is what you truly want to do until you get into it full time for years.. There are plenty of full snap on sets in boxs from beginning auto techs/ tech school drop outs on Craigslist for a fraction of what they paid.
