why are you into the jdm phase?

What i dont get, and im not trying to feed an exausted fire, is-

There are the people who do it first...the originators....the pioneers....
then come the followers....some follow to fit in......some follow because they just think it looks good....and then some just do it because its quality parts and its different.

I have a nice collection of JDM parts thus far. Rims, clock, fogs,(rear fog is debatable on whether its EDM or JDM lol) PFM, headlamps etc

Sure there are 100 other people with the same and more then me.

Did i do it to fit in? no. Did i do it because someone told me to? no. Did i do it because i thought i would be the coolest kid on the block? rofl no one on my block owns a cb7.

I did it because i think Japan got the nicer parts....sure quality between USDM and JDM are the same but our headlights have those dumb nipples....and our oem clocks are ugly green....and so on and so forth.

So once i figured out that there was a whole gang of OEM quality parts that were totally different then anything the US had to offer, i decided, me and no one else....that thats what i wanted for my car.

However, im not doing the whole JDM thing...i dont want a bumper pole...i dont want intersection lights....not sure on sidemarkers tho....i like those.

Whatever in the end its your own car....do what you want and who cares what anyone thinks....they dont pay your insurance, they dont wax yo shit and they sure as hell dont drive around in your car....so if you rice it up you gotta deal with the flaming...its all the same shit.

I got into it originally to be different but I also happened to like all the parts that I bought. If I were to build another accord now I certainly wouldnt want to get a body kit and altezzas and whatever other tacky things just because thats no longer the trend. I would still go with what I think looks good even though it might make my car look similar to a lot of others. Although these days Im pretty much all about function which I don't think can ever go out of style.

i freakin hate JDM stuff..i'd never put it on my own car. that being said, some JDM stuff does look pretty clean.
personally, i think that one day, back in the day, which was a wednesday by the way, a couple of guys thought they'd be different, and buy a more expensive, but rare JDM bumper. those are the guys that have a lot of posts in the forums. and noobs catch on, and start buying JDM, and then its just another *** fad.

i never said it looked bad or didnt look good w/e..
i just said i hate JDM stuff, and its never going on my car. period. again..that being said..some JDM styled vehicles look good, i just really really HATE being part of the bangwagon. .

its ***, and i dont like it cause everyone else thinks its cool, but doesn't respect it for what it is. they just want it cause that's what everyone else thinks is cool. and i didnt get into modding my accord until after JDM became all ricer infested.

its like everyone and their mother having an SR in their 240. its a decent motor, and its capable of making some good power. however, makes no sense to me, cause i have a perfectly good motor with half a liter more displacement, a better flowing head, and loads more tq just sitting out there under my hood waiting to get boosted.
why go SR? cause everyone else does it.

No, people go SR because it's JDM, and JDM is cool. Notice the pattern? lol. I, for one, certainly respect it for what it is. It's the way our cars and other Japanese cars were really and truly intended (In their home market, but none the less...).And everything either looks better(front bumper )or has its purpose (center console, foglights, intersection lights, side markers, and power folding mirrors...all either comfort or safety oriented, plus it happens to be neat or "cool") 'nuff said I'm out for now.
