You're actually mistaken. The only Japanese supercar that actually kept with the gentlemens agreement was the Rx-7 which put out 280 BHP. As opposed to the Skyline, Supra, GTO, Fairlady....These cars put WELL over 300HP, but measured wheel horsepower to meet the 'agreement'.

That's why the Rx-7 is legendary, less horsepower, and still poop an asswhooping on each of those cars.
