    Racism Issues

April 20, 2007: I was making my rounds to clean up. I found a single rose with no price tag. I gave the rose to a female co-worker (non-relationship) and went on to finish my job. I told her to put it back in the floral department. A few hours later: the boss claimed I was stealing without paying for it. I didn't steal the rose, turns out the female co-worker took it out the store that night. I paid for it by the way. All 85 cents of it. The next day, I was dropping a friend off at our job location when the store director called me into his office. He told me that he had to let me go. I asked why, he told me that my job performance was unsatisfactory. He gave me two different answers and directly lied in my face about why he fired me.

My question is: Has anybody here ever had to deal with racism in any way? Let me hear your responses.

I really cant see where the racism was evident, but I'd hate that B.S. , especially if i paid back for the 'stolen rose.' what were the 'two different answers?'

if they are going to fire you on that shit i wouldnt even go back and fight anyways. its just going to happen to you again or you both will be off at very bad terms/vibes.

so fuck your boss, find a job that wont discriminate and is an equal opportunity employer.

Dude, I deal with that stupid, ignorant, dumb sh!t all the time. Believe it or not, I dealt with it more when I was in the Marines. My job performance was hella stellar, I trained all the newbies that came into my shop + I was the guy the pilots wanted to work on their plane whenever they had problems. All them M/Fs I had trained had got the promotions. I had my promotion warrent torn up in front of my face 2x. Now mind you I was 1 of 2 blacks in a shop of 20 M/Fs. And oh yea b.t.w. the other guy didn't get promoted either he got F'ed over too. The real killer thing about the whole ordeal was that I never got any rank taken away, had numerous accomodations, was in many organizations (kids organizations, Marine Corps Burrial detail), and would be the first M/F in the shop prepping for the day and be the last M/F to leave. And YES it was all some racial B/S. That's my sad story

That my job performance was unsatisfactory and that I stole the rose.

No disrespect, but he was white. I think he was looking for a reason to fire me. Also, there was a co-worker (a white dude also) who always looked at me with a smart-ass look on his face. Like he had authority over me. Bullshit!
I think he had something to do with the whole incident. He was always on my ass everyday like he was the boss. I worked front end. His girlfriend worked front end and had "little" authority over the front end staff, including me. The dude, however, had no authority over the front end whatsoever. He worked Customer Service and cash register. Nothing else.

The supervisor was cool as shit. But when the "store director" and this guy who worked front end got involved, it turned into some real shit.

The real serious part is I actually thought about suicide when this happened. I've been through 2 different jobs before I actually ended up at this particular store. I thought everything was gravy until he fired over some bullshit. So, after that I got so depressed and angry. I didn't know how to deal with it, so I had all these different feelings boiling up inside that I seriously thought about putting myself out of my misery. It was that bad, in my eyes. I'm real serious about any work set before me. I like to work, but I don't like all the bullshit that comes with it. Just let me do my job without hassle and I'll be cool.

Suicide behind a job, ca'mon man. It's not that serious. If you want to get back at the cat, just bone is girl. That's what I would do! LOL.

It's all good now. I didn't want to stay in that mind frame. I'm down in Lithonia, GA hoping to bounce back on my feet. Thanks for the comment.

                          I'm out. Peace.

how many other people are black working there, if your the only one, soudns like they just wanted to not have a black guy working there, which u could definatel y win, it sounds to me like u were literally fired for NO reason, which is fucking bullshit..

but dont let it get to you, at least your not stuck at that job where people dislike you right? think of it as a way to move on, maybe not at first, but eventually to bigger and better things.

thats how i see it at least.
