yea religion is an issue in same race relationships... i am dating a catholic and i am very nondenominational and it sucks really bad bc we cant see eye to eye on a lot of issues

Ive only ever dated white girls...but thats because my town is pretty much only white girls...

I have no problems with what race they are...but I do think that if it was a girl I was gonna marry she will probably end up being white.

Although I messed around with this brown chick when I was in grade 11 and she definately was worth it haha

funny this came up, this can also be separted into more complicated groups such as north/south; actual culture(like chinese and chinese american); etc.

lets take an even colored relationship: black guy and black(or trini) girl-this was my best friend(girl) and this southern black guy, well shit really never worked out b/c of a few things

food(carribbean vs. grease), style(matching vs. tees and trucker hats), talk or accent(carribbean vs. southern slang), on and on and on

or like my situation a few years back:

i'm PR and jamaican and i dated an italian girl so off the bat theres the black/white thing

to further complicate things were: i'm a newyorker/she's southerner, style and taste(lets not go there), speaking(vastly different), etc.

so just skin color alone really doesnt have an excuse anymore, b/c what person is PURE BLOOD, honestly; even if your white and russian, THATS NOT PURE

what i'm trying to get at is people dont just date anymore b/c of skin color, they date b/c of looks now(and are judged b/c of that same look, not just skin color), especially in this era; but more than likely you'll still have parents who have that traditional aspect of dating which i'm completely against since we all are the same

thats why when someone says "I WONT DATE A BLACK GIRL/WHITE GIRL", i think thats crap, why???? b/c what makes that particular girl resentful when it comes to a relationship but hitting that becomes whoever

society also plays a huge role in this that we still have to keep to ones race b/c of peer pressure when some of my BEST girlfriends were'nt my race(when my exact race was HELL ), b/c social groups are also based on color

LIKE HIGHSCHOOL: the blacks were thugs and had syle, the white were preppy and stuck-up, the asians could be anywhere, then theres that middle area

then when the white guy has a black girl, it clashes....why, b/c why did a white guy(preppy) get the black girl(thug), when its just 2 people who like each other, but are looked at not only for their color of their skin but their actual ASSUMED persona

man i could go on and on, but to conclude b/c i'm ranting , DATE WHOEVER, get a personal understanding of WHY society deems interracial taboo, then you'll truly know that its really a mind game after that

Eh I get defensive if someone gives me and my girlfriend a weird look.

I'm African American/Pacific Islander mix and my girlfriend is white.

Slowly buy surely our generation is starting to fade out all that discrimination bull, I see more interracial couples other than my own almost everyday.

My best friend is white and his girlfriend of 5 years is Asian he told me how hard it was to adjust to her family because they didn't approve but he's gotten real close to them over the years.

So I don't think it's really based on race..more or less it's based on how you feel about that particular person.

But in all seriousness, we're all human and attraction to a girl of a different 'race' even if your family doesn't approve of it, who cares?

Im black but love hispanic girls more than anything. I think ill probably marry a hispanic but im in no way limiting myself because there are way more important things than race or ethnicity so i try to be open minded about it.
