    Carbon Fiber doors!!!!!!

I was browsing on eBay and came across these. Being as cool as some of you think you are people may have already seen these but I have not so I thought I'd post them up. It'd be nice if we could do something like this for coupes(I'd paint them of course) but I can't begin to imagine the list of complaints the topic would receive by people who couldn't make up their minds. 2 door/4 door? USDM moldings, EDM moldings, removable moldings, no moldings? It would go on and on. By the way these are for a 2G Eclipse/Talon.

Yea its rare. They have cf doors for specific applications nowadays. If you can somehow get a skeleton/mold of the door and get it made it would be great. I would love cf doors. It would prob cost an arrm and a leg too.

I think the idea of weight savings is cool, and still being able to mount your factory power window motor, regulator and glass is a huge plus. I just think it would look dumb, so I'd paint them. Not for use with door-popping solenoids though I'm sure. Unless you wanted to use it as a catapult.

the problem is going to be with insurance companies and closing them. side impact would be greatly affected with those doors and they probably would have issues closing. the lack of weight is a negative in those regards. i bet they're not legal in most places the way some laws are. still aren't as bad as a motorcycle but i guarantee that an insurance company would weasel their way out of paying for your medical bills 'because the door swap compromised the integrity of the car's ability to protect the driver'

After spending that much money on doors and then getting t-boned, I don't think I'd want to live through it. It would be heart breaking. Just kidding, good point.

cool, idea only for shows. Those would not be good protection in a accident. The plus with the stock doors is they won't shatter as easy. Therefore it will take majority of damage and not you, like i see with those carbon fiber doors.

but if the carbon fiber is thick enough, shouldn't it be stronger than the stock sheetmetal
