it depends on what job you want..i think of the army as a job plain and simple...

if you wanna go kill people or get shot at a lot go infantry

if you wanna high tech job.. working with satellites go communications

if you wanna learn how to cook .. .. be a cook...lol

if you dont wanna get shot @ at all go airforce or navy

plain and simple

not all jobs in the army are going out and shooting people ...

and you can check when a gaurd unit deployed and join that one.. they usually have to wait 2 yrs before they deploy again..so if you join a unit that just got back from deployment you have a 2yr wait time until the next one...
or just join a unit that doesnt deploy...

Hrm, depends on who you are....

I make btwn 60-72k. I'm not gonna give an exact figure, but that's a small ballpark.

I must confess, that's not just military pay. I work for the military.....

the only experience i have is 3 years for starbucks and 3 months as an autmotive machinist. it'd be awesome to work as a mechanic on personal transport vehicles though.

quit starbucks...

join active army get a 20,000 ranger bonus
-70,000 dollars for school (gi bill)
-go infantry
-go airborne
-go ranger

do like a short 3 yr contract get out and then join blackwater

my main point of joining the national guard was not to be infantry, plus i dont want to stoop down to their IQ levels.

like blowing a car full of mines with a grenade only to have shrapnel rain down on you. what kind of dumbass(es) would do such a thing?
