Gloryaccordy: how do you like the p910 compared to the treo in terms of functionality? I was thinking about switching over to WM or a nolia s60 series platform.

I have a p900 in storage and i'm using my p990 for this post.

The Treo was a lot more straightforward as far as doing simple stuff is concerned. The Treo also seems to run a bit faster.

The P910i has MP3 ringtones right out of the box though and just looks wayyyy better IMO. It's still early but I like the P910i better. The P990 should be awesome. The P900 seems cool but I had the P800 and not having a keyboard on that level of a phone was a pain.

what are you, a 60 year old grandpa? you're a member of a car modification website, which is from my experience, the ULTIMATE way to throw away cash and never see it again lol

my motorola a780 can "call people", i can use it as a real-time GPS navigation tool, i can access the "real" internet as the iphone commercials put it, it's tough enough to have lasted almost 2 years at work (construction) which is more than i can say for MOST of the phones sold in the USA, it has games, programs, i can use it as a high-speed modem on a laptop or desktop computer, it has a quality MP3 player w/ EQ, i can watch movies, do my taxes on it, etc.

i can watch porn on it too.......

you may not NEED it, but you also don't NEED your cell period since people got by without them for like, FOREVER

a lot of windows mobile programs have screen issues. i'm not a fan of windows mobile and while i know shit about linux still, this a780 works flawlessly even though i have 3rd party apps all over it. with windows mobile, 3rd party apps usually cause issues and they simply blame the developer, not their "monopolization" attitude lol. it's an american thing though. windows owns the USA

Well i guess we are on the same page on this one...(see above posts about bashing windows mobile).

No one has made a Unix kernel for the blackjack, nor do i think anyone ever will. I dont think enough people own it.

The only good thing about windows mobile, like windows for a desktop, is that people develop software for it, so applications are more readily available.

Someday though, Ubuntu will own the world.

actually there are quite a few programs for linux phones nowadays. a lot of useful ones too. most linux phones are on the ezx platform and are still not overly common, but motorolafans.com has quite a few useful and entertaining apps. the older e680i got it all going pretty well. my a780 has a bunch of apps. but of course, they're all 3rd party but since they're of good quality and i have an unlocked phone, it is fine and i don't have to worry about voiding any warranties

I can't stand my Razr... I press the buttons too fast and call the wrong person, thanks to the lagginess of it. I can't really put any good games on it for that reason... and it seems that all the compatible games are action games! Why the hell would I want an action game on a phone that doesn't respond instantly to input! I swear, the best phone I ever had was my old Nokia brick... the one with the antenna nub sticking up, and the gameboy colored display. That thing would bounce 2 feet on concrete and work fine!

Anyway, in terms of modifying my Razr... I finally got a USB cord from AccordWarrior (though I learned that my camera and GPS cords are exactly the same!) I can now mess with the phone, but I don't know what to do with it I'd like to get a GPS on there, if possible... as well as some games (without having to pay... piracy, I know... but I don't want to spend $100 finding the ONE game worth owning! I'll do that for free, then buy the ones I actually like to support the developers)
