ahhhh the joys of having a GREAT sound system!! and update on the accord.

well, as you all know i recently got a 2001 chrysler sebring.

it came with Infinity speakers from the factory, which sounded incredible.

well, as you all may also know, i plan on retiring the cb to the track.

well the other night, im out there stripping the accord, when my buddy wes calls and wants to know if im interested in a Audiobahn 12" with a Pyramid 1200 watt amp. im like hells F*ckin yeah!

so i pulled my Pioneer headunit and Kicker 6x9s out of the cb and we traded straight up.

i got everything wired up in the sebring and god does it sound incredible. im going to get pix as soon as i post this, and ill try to get a short vid so maybe you can hear it...

    STATUS UPDATE ON THE CB:

currently, it sits in my driveway under a tarp (pass side window motor broke window stuck down) with no seats, im working on tearing out the carpet, just getting kind of lazy lol. the trunk is stripped, and i removed my CD5 lip and will be selling it to a friend, as i realized the SCCA does not allow aero mods for any classes that i will be able to afford to run in... lol. pix of the cb soon too.

yeah i know right? they allow the use of a spoiler, BUT ONLY THE OEM ONE. so if my car didnt come with a spoiler, which it didnt, but other cars of the same make, model, and year did, i can put one of THOSE on, so im considering if it would even be worth it to put a oem spoiler on... i mean, they were just for looks right?

i mean, a wing will screw up my aerodynamics by adding drag. now, will the downforce i gain from it, if any, be enough to offset that you think?

hell, i doubt ill even be going fast enough to utilize downforce lol...

No way it'll help anything other than looks. Good luck with the build for the tack though

i always wanted to make a track car out of my CB7 and race it. but i need it to make it to work and school so that wont be happening.

how much do you expect to get the car down to when you're done stripping the interior? like sub-2000 lbs. or something? plus how much money do you plan on dropping into this project? anyway, good luck on the build!

                      not very much.

im still studying scca class rules and regulations trying to figure out a class to race. i got a friend with a pipe bender thats gonna make my cage.

im gonna paint all the side trim moldings, including the front bumper, and the sideskirts and front and rear lips silver to give a little two tone

besides that i dont plan on modifying it much so it stays cheap.

a good goal to shoot for is 2600lbs without the driver or fuel. when you need more weight, you can create ballasts and just place them around the car as needed. you can use the weight to your advantage while meeting minimum requirements.

the first two hundred pounds shouldnt be hard but the next two hundred should be extremely hard. it pretty much comes down to whether or not you need ccertain bolts, brackets, wiring...down to the lbs and ounces.
