CareerBuilder/Monster... why the hell do they have such sucky jobs on there?

I need a new job. I was doing some work for two different companies... one paid REALLY well, the other was a good supplement. The one that paid kinda dried up. The one that was meant to be a supplement is now my primary, and my income has been drastically reduced.

I like what I'm doing, but I hate the fact that I'm not making enough money doing it! I want to go to school to be an appraiser, so I need something flexible enough for that.

I already have 2 college degrees (both are relatively worthless as they are), and I can't seem to find a job making even $30,000 a year that is worth doing!

Anyone have any suggestions? I'm getting frustrated! $30k a year is my minimum. I can survive on less, but I don't like living at my limit. One unexpected major expense (like my electrical system in my home failing 2 years ago... $800...) and I'm screwed!

I don't want retail. I don't want restaurant. I don't want nights. Daytime work, 40 hours a week. It used to be the norm... now there's nothing!

well since he has his degree already... he could join as an officer

by his third year he will be making more than 50,000 / year..and all his living expenses will be paid for.. he would be given a living allowance of like 2k / month..just to get a place to live off base

My degrees are a BA in psychology, and an AS in business... both worthless unless I take them to the next level. Only good for jobs that wan a general degree... which aren't great jobs.

I haven't really looked in the city, since I hate the city... though the good jobs ARE usually there...

As for the military... not my thing. I'm not that disciplined, and I'm not a fan of taking orders Plus, I already own a home, so relocation isn't cool... and there's a war going on. IMO, anyone who willingly joins the military during wartime has a few screws loose! No offense to those that have... I have crazy respect to those that can... but I certainly couldn't do it. Definitely not for a war that I think is total BS anyway! The war was necessary for a while, but now it's totally misguided. We have no real goals... I can't fight for that, and I can't support it! I DEFINITELY won't put my life on the line for it!

haha.. im in the army but do you think i have a W bush sticker on the back of my CB7? the answer is hell to the fuck nah.. shit i wanted kerry to win! i like the fahrenhiet 911... just cuz im in the military doesnt i agree with our nations policy in iraq.. if i have to kill someone shooting at me.. i will tho.. .. if you joined lets say the airforce.. you prolly will never be in that situation where you would have to...

.. if you wanna be softcore not hardcore .. then you could always do airforce.. they are laid back as hell plus if you look at how many people who have died in iraq..and you compare army (active 2,303) deaths to airforce deaths (63)

you have a degree in psychology i think you can become a fed .. F.B.I. i know they have nice salaries.. ive contemplated doing this after my degree in comp sci ... are you even utilizing your degree?

seriously the best job ive ever had is military.. where else can i jump out of planes and shoot weapons and get paid..some of the best people ive met were in teh military the camaraderie can never be matched by the civilian world

ive been all over the world..

there are so many different jobs

i dont know if im gonna do 20 yrs.. but i dont regret the 5yrs i did at all

                give it a shot..

Government jobs are great... I've looked, and there are a few that interested me. The application and hiring process can take YEARS, though! I attended a seminar at college about getting government jobs. I've already applied to be a Passport Specialist... good money, just to issue passports... Haven't gotten a call in over a year yet though!
