Yep its not bad its just expensive lol and only a few producers make them. Only makes I can think of with the single lug design was the F40/50 and the new enzo.

          Damn good thread!!!

And i would have to agree and im no engineer but it makes perfect sense.

          Less weight.

          Less time

          More surface area for braking.

All deadly important things when it comes to serious racing.

And i can see why your teacher would say no time stuff because its an easy copout for an essay although time is one of the most if not the most important things in racing lol so he is kind of an asshole.

With one central shaft and nut, you simply align the center and BOOM, it is on.
Elaborating on this idea further. with central lug nut you save some time in centering the wheel on the hub, but also in making sure it is flush against the hub. One central hub nut is associated with fast cars in general, last thing they need is a shimmy/vibration at 150-220 MPH from a wheel not being flushly mounted to the hub because it involves using 4-6 lug nuts and someone put them on in a rush and cocked the wheel onto the hub. Also, with one central nut, you decrease the chances of missing a lug nut when torquing/installing them and from them not being installed in an evenly manner.

Ah cool! I wondered who that was.

I wasn't ignoring you, I was just trying to avoid it on that site, because things get complicated fast, so I try to stay on the original topic.
