Long story short. I have my turbo installed, not tuned properly, needs a clutch, some oil leaking, needs a dumptube, tuner had my car for a month and only started working on it last week. He's on vacation for a week now, sounds like I have a faulty turbo, I still owe him about $2000, so do I get my turbo somewhere else and have it tuned somewhere else and get it basically finished somewhere else? He's a very good tuner, but he is extremely slow in his ways. Wednesday I am getting a new clutch and I could have the rest of my setup finished by them, the only problem is they are not as good as my tuner, but maybe I could still grab a tubo off them and get it tuned at another very well known tuner in this area. By going somewhere else can that justify me not paying my remaining $2000 to my current tuner? Or should I wait another week for him to get back and finish his job? I've waited so long for him to finish and finally he finishes, but not everything and not on time and now he's gone, so just wondering what to do? Thanks

Well I did ask a similar question when my car was in the shop and nothing was done to it, this time the work is almost done, but there is still some more to do. I really dont want to go behind my mechanics back, but there comes a time when you have to decide that enough is enough and I'm almost at that point

Honestly i was in your same position at one point like 3 motor setups back Save yourself the trouble and headache stack your chips sell your car and get a turbocar if you want turbo that bad and deal with parts that easily slap on it that way you dont have to deal with the bullshit. Im dealin with mopar .
My car easily is doin 300whp and 300wtq on just an intake exhaust 2 bar map and tip sensor with the ecu and options with it called turbo toys and i even have an option of using racegas at the push of a button and intercooler water sprayers that enhance my intercoolers efficientcy in this blasted heat and it does the job well. The best thing about it i dont have to get it tuned its already done with the ecu that comes with the kit. So no headaches or bullshit from tuners and all that you just slap it on and go.

for god sakes, just learn how to do everything yourself.
with all the money you wasted, you could have bought a very good tuning system.
If it's almost ready, then get it out of there. If it needs a new turbo, buy one and bolt it on yourself. All you need is a basic tools set from your auto parts store.
It's not that hard.
that's what you get when you pay shops to do your work. A bunch of bullshitting around.

I know what you're saying D112 and I appreciate any help and the words to get me to start doing it myself, and yes I will have him finish the job, he is a great tuner so that I will just have to wait, its just frustrating waiting some more because I only get to drive my car 5 months out of the year
