Aight I got the Max around 6pm today... 99 SE Limited (whatever the fukk that means. Seems pretty regular to me.)
I got it at wholesale cost... 99, 121K, 5K out the door. Blue w/gray interior, cold A/C, P/S, non-Bose stereo, yadder yadder.
POWERTRAIN- The VQ is cool, it makes a good noise under grunt and makes nice torque. It runs really smooth too. The shift linkage is decent as is the clutch.
RIDE/SUSPENSION- The suspension is cool...soaks up bumps w/o complaining too much. I think I'm still gonna lower it though, Tokico HP kit. They put me on big ass 225/55 tires though, we gotta work on that.
INTERIOR- The interior's good. Spacious. My knee didn't hit the shifter from the passenger seat like the CB. It's pretty roomy. I'm kinda glad it doesn't have leather either, that shit gets hot. If I can find grey leather from an I30, if I have the money to waste I'll snag it. The stereo's pretty decent as well for the non-Bose system too. I'm debating what to do with it though.
All in all it's decent. The dealer agreed to clear a CEL... it doesn't seem too bad though. As far as how itr compares to the H22A CB, it's butt slow, but A/C and P/S MORE than make up for the loss in speed. The CB is super fast in comparison, especially on the big cam. It doesn't handle that much worse than the CB though, which I'm surprised by because f the 1800's rear suspension. It should eb interesting with the Tokico HP kit. All in all though I'm happy... it should be a decent ride for the next year or so. I won't put that much money into it as I plan on getting something much ,much better next year.
