The only thing that a quad core will do for you is able you to multi task faster and at ease. But my AMD 3200+ Venice, 2x512 Dual Channel,160gb HD, and a 7900gs does fine on any game or application.I usualy run Windows Media Player, Internet, burning CD's all the time and I see very to no little slow down.It all depends on how your computer is balanced out.If you get the best processor, nicest board, crazy ram, and you use an ATI 9200 you are going to bottle neck your pc.

        a single card could though.
SLI is for double the video power.
i use to have it with my 7800gts but dont think it ever helped.

see the two DVI-outputs? that means you can run two LCD monitors.

if you got any more questions man, just post em' up.
if i get a card with dual dvi or vga/dvi, can i run a dual monitor setup with those?

my monitor has dvi, but my tv is vga only. also, if i get a card with a dvi and vga output, can i run different resolutions with each?

Most, if not all graphics cards with dual outputs will allow you to run your specified setup.

Check the CPU charts, the 6600 C2D beats the X2 6000+, though they are close in some aspects

on the stairs, she grabs my arm, says whats up,
where you been, is something wrong?
i try to just smile, and say everything’s fine.

Tom's Hardware is an excellent resource.

Because the game only uses 1 core to work. Now there are a few games coming out very soon that will utalize 2 cores. The only one I know of is Unreal Tornement 2007.

Ah, the thing is, there WILL be an advantage. WINDOWS ITSELF is multi-threaded, meaning windows will run on one core, and run the game on the other. Not neccesarily a huge increase in performance, but none-the-less, there is an increase.

                    You and me both, brotha. I have a 3800 X2 OC'd to 2.4ghz on air...stock voltage.

I also have a Leadteak 7800GS (stock clocks are 375mhz core, 1.2ghz memory) OC'd to 490mhz core, and 1.4ghz mem.

I get a solid 80 FPS in 32 player CS servers. Not bad for an older computer, eh?
