    Check out the new car!

As most of you know, the CB has died and I'm parting it out. Just this past thursday I bought a 2003 Sentra Spec-v. Lets just say that between the 180 ft/lbs of torque and the 6 speed, LSD tranny, this car is fun and quick.

Yeah, I've read all about those recalls. It got the recall done for both but but I'm still gonna put some loctite on the throttle plate butterfly screws.
And yeah, it is very nice. Did yours come with the Rockford sound system? It's really nice too.

I'm waiting for Val to see this thread. The only thing that scares me about the Spec V's is shifting into 6th. I always feel like I'll end up in reverse. More than once when I was going into reverse, I was actually in 6th.

I probably shouldn't be talking about this though...I'm gonna get punched the next time Val sees me.

6th gear is taking some getting used to, I was afraid of accidentally going into reverse but as long as you don't try to go from 4th to 6th it can't happen. I sat with the car off and TRIED to get it from 5th to reverse in one motion and it's very hard.

Reason # 38262111 Why you'll never drive my Spec Again.

Nice Car. I've had my 02 spec for almost 2 years and its still fun to drive. The low end torque make daily driving so much fun. I actually just kitted mine and hope to be painting it. I would love to have the money/ resources to do either an SR20 swap or the Maxima engine swap.

I didn't do the recalls on mine and ended up getting a new engine at 55k miles.

Nah it didnt come with the system, it came with the crappy stock Panasonic speakers, i threw those out and put my own system in it. Yea i admit i hit reverse once or twice trying to put it in 6th the first week i had the car, you just have to get used to it. The best mod on that car is a header and the IM spacers, with those mods the second u hit 3000 rpm it kicks you in the butt.

Did they not equip it with a reverse lockout?

Yeah that's exactly what it is. It's really not easy to put it in reverse on accident even when shifting fast. I almost did it once but its because I was trying to go from 4 to 6. Needless to say I don't do that anymore. If a skip any gears I go from 3 to 5, just because of the super short gearing.

So there's no actual lockout for reverse like there is in the 5 speed, but it's not going to happen unless you try to.
