    cleaning up oil on pavement

are there any chemicals that i can use to clean up oil on the pavement outside my house? for a while my car was leaking a little bit of oil. now since its stopped i need to find a way to get rid of the oil that was left on the pavement.

    anyone got any suggestions?

depending on how fresh that oil is, i usually rush out there and hose it down with engine degreaser or if i had powered detergent, i sprinkly a scoop on it to soak it up.

kitty litter to soak it up and any degreaser to follow it.

x2 on the kitty litter. we use it all the time in the SAE shop when the R6 engine decides to be cranky. we always keep a couple bags on hand. clean the rest up with simple green. if that doesnt get enogh of it up, use paint stripper and a garden hose (warning, this may kill your grass at the edge of the driveway. spray it either into the street, or dilute it a lot)

Use some kitty litter to soak up excess then you can use some gunk engine degreaser.

well the thing is that its been there for at least 3 or 4 months. so the kitty litter thing, although a good idea, would be kind of pointless now. but i will be picking up some simple green(sp?) 2morrow.
