JDM pwr folding mirrors

Ok so i might be getting a set of these....

so two questions.....

do they make mirror covers? You know like a bra for mirrors so that the paint doesnt chip/scratch?


And the other q is....

Id like to wire them up different then the norm...like with the alarm or when the car is started they open/turn off close in...

so where would be a good place to find that wiring info?!?!

pm airride accord, well if you were in socal he would probably do this for you,

i believe you can just use a regular relay and just wire it to one out your channels on your alarm if it is multichannel, for example my viper 791vx has like 5 or 7 channels or outputs i believe

as for covers, i think you could use that clear film that they sell and just put in the areas that you will be hit the most, but be aware that the paint will look different from the rest of the pain once that piece is removed

you will need a timer to switch off the motors when the mirrors are fully open or fully closed...

if u can't find those, just get a self-centering up/down switch. Using this, u can manually open and fold the mirrors.

u should be able to find a mirror relay, but they are rarely sold by themselves...try talking to an Ebay seller who is selling a folding mirror set; they might be able to find u a lone mirror timer relay.

so they dont open on thier own when the car is off or on? id just want them to close when the car is locked or unlocked that would look sick.

No they don't open by themselves. There's actually a switch on the driver side control area that needs to be pressed until they close/open just like the power mirror switch.

i was gonna do the same when i refurb'd my ride, but i burnt the folding motors (im a wiring dumm dummm) so i said heck with it.. i got PFM's, but i dun have the button..

it will be gangsta to have ur mirrors fold and unfold by themselves.. but u'll drain ur battery..

Would it really drain it that bad??

I mean id rather them do it with the alarm because if its wired to the IGN to open at startup thats more drag on the alt and when my car dies one day itll make it harder to start. Maybe ill just leave it to the button...
