Just a few suggestions.
First off this has become more of a thread of talking about starting an all female thread.
also my other half frostychic can't post on here so why not actually start a thread in the beginner off-topic. I know it would help Jamie get here 30 posts in but leaving her with a bunch of newb guys in the beginner section would really make stuff hard for her and possibly discourage her from posting. I'm sure there are plenty of other ladies that don't post because they are new to this or just get discouraged. Like what was said in a previous post (but not word for word) guys treat women like they don't know anything about cars and they can't. That is bullshit. I know that Jamie knows here shit from watching me and helping me. (She also knows not to be anywhere in the vicinity when i'm putting a timing belt on an h22 with auto tensioner conversion while in the car, because tools will fly).
So why don't disscussions get made here and maybe start a sticky thread in the beginner section. And first post will state no guys period or ban. Lets give them there space to get together and learn together and help each other move on through the site. On thread that guys can't post in won't kill us.
Ok i said my piece I'm out.vouch for:924dr, sn2bh22cb7, soysaucecb7, ecto1, PRIMESNIPER,2.2litrebeater,turbowagon94, losiracer2,jacobuchanan140, tommi, dannyd

First off, making a thread in OT beginners won't help your better half get 30 posts, as OT is just that....OT. Doesn't count.
But im all for a female thread in the beginners section. As far as not allowing guys to enter, thats kind of far fetched....i mean if its in the beginners section, there is zero tolerance for flaming so the girls should feel safe in asking questions and stuff.
So which girl is going to go ahead and make a females meeting thread in the beginners section?
if it gets enough hits from girls, and the guys dont fowl it up(which i don't think they will, seeing as this thread has stayed pretty much guy free)it should be get stickied.

I agree with some of the guys above. As much as I would love for to have a womens only thread that was successful its just not going to happen.
If a tuner woman has the guts to join the site and deal with the leg humping/sexist comments then they have the guts to ask their questions in the main forum.
And if you really think about it... if tuner woman wants to be treated equal to the guys its contradictory to then ask for our own area.
Although it was a good idea in theory this girls only thread just isn't going to take off."Auto racing, bull fighting and mountain climbing are the only real sports....all others are games."

Be a tuner first, and a girl second. Here, anyway. In time, if you prove yourself knowledgeable about the car you're working on, the guys will regard you as such. Be helpless and refuse to learn anything... and you're only good for leghumping.
Cass (i'm the girl) was the best example of this. Her screen name alone made it obvious she was a girl. She had a picture of herself in her sig quite often, and she's attractive. However, she did her own bodywork, and swapped in an F22B DOHC herself. She knew a lot about the CB7, more than many people here. She was not a victim of incessant leghumping for very long.
I assure you... if you actually turn a wrench, you will be given proper respect. Val, I'm sure you understand this. You know enough, and it is known that you know enough, to be able to talk tech, especially about turbo stuff (since you were half of Eric's turbo install!) All those times people refer to you as "dude", they're treating you as a tuner, not a girl... they just don't know you're a girl That knowledge is respected even by the people that know you're a girl.

both Likewise...
Nic ( ArcadiaCB7)'s GF ...Jaime( frostychic ) and my girl ( My_1st_90cb7 )
I assure you...do wrenching work..or sit..watch...learn and ask questions if they dont understand whats going on!
my girl is learning fast!
I asked her to hand me the 10mm combo wrench...and she knew exactly what it was!
I asked her to hand me the micrometer ( measuring the disc thickness ) and she knew exactly what it was....and she handed it to me..
so shes learning UBER fast
NOTE: it shouldn't matter what gender you are. if a woman turns a wrench...thats a MAJOR plus in my book...because the majority of woman ...just get in ...turn key..drive..and dont know how things operate....they just drive and have no clue how to change something so minor as the oil or plugs!
Gender shouldn't matter.... all the women on this board came to this board either because of their BF/fiance/husband.....someone referred them here...or they had a knack for doing their own work and wanted information ( Im_the_girl )
I give everyone respect regardless of Gender..the people I DONT LIKE are Cocky people that think they're better than everyone else : theres a few members here that gives off that vibe.Last edited by SN2BH22CB7; 10-23-2007, 12:54 PM.92 LX.
