chattin on a network

I remember in highschool in comp labs there was a program we used accessed through start > run where we could chat with other people on the network. anyone know what its called? does xp have this option? i'm curious if there is a way to chat with ppl on my school network in class.

also does anyone possibly know where i can find a screen saver that flashes through all the colors on the screen, basically something that would give an epileptic a heart attack. so just all solid colors, flashing really fast on the screen. gonna use it to excersice pixels.

Program's called netsend.

Open the command prompt and type in netsend/? for command line options.

In order to use it on Windows XP I believe the messenger service will have to be set to run always.
