Learning to drive stick with a broken ankle (picture)

Well i broke my left ankle back on 03/31/07. I rolled it walking down a steep hill and i heard it crack. It was a 3mm crack of the fibula and i now have a cast and will have it on till 05/21/07.

04/21/07 i bought a 93 lx 2dr 5-speed. I use my heal and i sit semi-far up on the wheel. Its kinda funny to me and my friends. I'm thinking once i get the cast off it will be a whole new process of learning and getting the feel for the clutch. LoL Also, if my ankle isnt healed completely i will still have to use my heal to push the clutch in all the way.

I HATE using crutches, taking a shower, & not being able to walk...

Has anyone here broken their foot/ankle and had to drive stick?

i broke a bunch of stuff in my foot a while back, but it was before i could drive lol.

then a few days later, i was on a bunch of pain killers, so i turned my crutches up side down, stood on the hand grips and walked on them like stilts lol.

in retrospect, that wasnt a good idea. fun tho.

    well get better soon!

i sprained my ankle at work once. the pain was soo bad that i kept shouting, just take the foot. i couldnt move that right ankle or wiggle my toes so i thought i had broken it.

anyways at the time i was driving my pickup that was a 5spd so.. luckly i had a good buddy that would pick me up for work and then i would just drive the motorized wheel chair around all night while cleaning up the shelves.
