Thats a pretty sick color. My dad had it on his 79' DeVille lowrider. It was called Starburst Blue from the paint shop.

I'm not sure how it'll look on a CB. I think it would look sick.

Sorry i dont have better pics to show but this color is pure sex....if I had a scanner i would scan the pics from the mag for you guys. I can see me turning some heads with this color :tu; My paint job is gonna run me around $1200-$1500 including all buddywork and a small rust removal (recently found the cancer), alot of coats of base and the entire gallon or clear followed by wet sanding and buffing to make the paint bling. When I tell the car is gonna be stripped down to the bones so that the door jams and trunk can get painted too. I think i'm getting a deal comparing to the high prices down here in the south.

oh he will lol. Kandy is difficult to paint in that you have to walk the entire length of the car in one stroke, no spraying back and forth. Because Kandy is BASICALLY tinted clear you have to walk it to avoid overspraying layers and creating dark spots in the final paint. I would get into it more but this isnt a How To Paint Kandy thread.

IMO blue is played out on "tuner" cars. Theres a ton of Kandy Kolors and HOK flakes to boot. If you want to turn some heads go for soemthing a little different, throw a little flake in the mix and call it a day.

Heres a guys car i did, the stripe is 13 coats of Kandy over a silver ppg base, before clear:

this is after clear mixed with HOK Abalone flake, see how it makes the black come alive:

to me jobs like this are more eye catching than single colors because you have the "far-away, see-it-pass-you-on-the-street-looking-good" kind of detail, and you have the up close detail. Finding a decent price for someone to paint your whole car Kandy is not as crucial as finding a decent SPRAYER. not everyone can spray Kandy but everyone will try and charge you out the ass to boot. I wont spray a whole car, i dont feel i'm good enough. But then again, im honest (which i why i still paint out of my garage ) Just be careful Gemini, you dont want another repeat of your past paint experiences.

I was waiting for you you chime in but its actually not that type of candy. The base color is mixed with kandy and slect pearls into a universal base coat to mimic a candy finish. Basically candu color with the candy price...check this out from the HOK website.

                      SHIMRINŽ KANDY BASE COATS (KBC)
Kandy Base Coats are a mixture of Kandy and select Pearls into a SHIMRINŽ Universal Base Coat that mimics a Kandy finish. They feature low build, fewer coats, are easy to apply, and touchups are easier than ever. Available in the same great colors as our regular kandys. Due to their unique chemical make-up they may be top coated with either an acrylic lacquer or urethane enamel.

painting ur car that color will totally change it...

your current color scheme seems more natural, but that blue will be more showy...

                        change is always good

oh, well say that next time so i dont waste 5 minutes of my life posting and finding pics etc...
lol, just kidding, thats cool, ive never sprayed it but i wonder if it still needs to be sprayed in long lengths or sprayed as regular basecoat. looks like i have some research to do.

so i'm guessing you found yourself a new painter then?
wish you were local, i would do all your work for about half that price

I say do it, I love that color, and I have asked about that color for my car around here and it will cost me 3k to paint it and take the little bit of rust I have on my 1/4.
