Who here reads their astrology and believe in astrology? Just curious about what people's opinions are about this?

well i don't really believe in it but it is really creepy how closely my astrological sign matches my personality! i must admit...made me a little interested...Lois: Oh, I haven't been on a college campus in years. Everything seems so different.
Stewie: Really? Perhaps if you laid on your back with your ankles behind your ears that would ring a few bells.

I dont read it that much but I do believe that people of a certain sign carry similar personality traits for sure.1993 Accord LX - Sold

I think the fortune telling portion is Hocus Pocus crap.
But I agree with Gemini. It is eerily coincidental how there are personality traits that are so common among groups.
Also, just because you are a certain sign, does not mean you have all traits of that sign. If you are "born on the cusp" then you may exhibit traits from the sign you are on the edge of also.
Interestingly, I don't typically subsribe to BS, but if you really compare someone you already know, to the traits described for them, in most cases it actually fits quite well.
Also, since many aspects of different signs are not the same, you can't just say, "they are being general and covering everyone."
To some extent they are general, but most Pisces traits don't describe my personality, and I am not one.

Its obvious I'm a gemini , my brithday is May 21st which is the 1st day or Gemini and I think I got all Gemini traits. My brother is also a gemini....we have so much similarities its creepy but that could be because we were raised together(well, i raised him). We have alot of differences but I just label him as being the "bad twin" . I've never met a gemini I didnt like and we ALWAYS have similar personalities and a instant connection....who knows...maybe its all mumbo jumbo which makes everything a big coincidence1993 Accord LX - Sold

I used to base a lot on astrology and in my experience I have noticed similar traits, but I wonder...."was it all in my mind?" since this person was a particular sign then do I actively look out for their certain astrological traits that I have read about? It's interesting to me and because at one point in my life I really did believe everything about astrology and what signs are compatible with eachother ect ect. And when I met someone who I was astrologically compatible with, it's interesting because I would actually get along with him/her well, but was it just me looking for those signs? I don't know, but I think astrology is interesting to a certain point

How about this? When I started reading about (read one book about the different traits), how could I take the personalities of people I already knew, and see how well the templates lined up, with some eery results, if it was all in my head.
Like I said, all of the traits weren't the same, but the were mostly accurate.
Also, YES you can experience expectency, which is basically when you expect something to be a certain way, and your mind alters your perceived reality to match those expectations.

I read a report that relates planetary alignments and other cosmic events to changes in the electromagnetic structure that which surrounds Earth. It then goes on to relate this electromagnetic flux to effects on brainwave patterns. Thus, it concludes that Astrology could be based on such a relationship and forwards a position to the applications of Astrology in the real world. ...sounds cool to me....
I know of many executives that highly regard Astrology in their daily lives and the business decisions of their companies...
although we may not understand it, a lot of people tend to have a blind faith in it.
...yes, I have this blind faith....DEVOTE

If you notice, many of the traits are fairly universal... and they are often applied only when they seem to fit.
Just like the whole "dumb blonde" concept... when you see a dumb blonde, you think of that label. When you see a smart blonde, you don't think "oh, she's blonde and not dumb"... you don't think of the "dumb blonde" label at all... therefore, it's enforced when it's noticed, and forgotten when it's not. That's the same with the astrological traits.
Regardless, reading your horroscope and believing it can lead to a self-fulfilling prophecy. If you EXPECT something to happen, your actions will be working towards that end. If "you are going to meet the love of your life", you'll be looking for the love of your life.
