That was one pissed off bird. Apparently he disagreed with pleasure flying that morning!
I had a Golden Eagle with a wingspan of nearly 7 feet soar less than 4 feet from my face at the Grand Canyon one. I have pictures of it. It was INSANE. You can't really grasp the size or the power until you see one that close. I was off by myself, and he was soaring along the ridgeline. At first I thought was going to peck my eyes out, but he turned to follow the ridge just as he got to me.
I will never forget that experience. -
