Finally... some opposition. (I'm ignoring Dani because I can't read a word he's saying...)

I know it's a pain in the ass. Hell, I need an H22 head, but I'll deal. I'll find one on ebay.

People are getting scammed, and there's nothing I can do about it... except just get rid of the Classifieds. I've heard one too many "what are you going to do about it?"... so I did something about it. Now all the naive fools that got scammed because they sent unprotected money to someone they didn't know and couldn't reach can see... I did something. This is ALL I can do.

I've said "protect yourself" OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER. I created the Beginner Forums primarily to prevent new people from joining JUST to scam... and I created the 30 cb7-related post rule so scammers would have to suffer through 30 on-topic posts. They wouldn't only have to be scammers, but scammers that knew enough about CB7s to get out of the Beginner Forums in order to do any damage!

That didn't work. I've gotten 7 PMs about a certain member in the past 2 weeks alone. He's not the only one, but that was the last straw. I'm done with it. The drama isn't worth it. This site is a resource for information regarding CB7s. It's not a trading site. If you want something, go to ebay. If you have something to sell, sell it on ebay. Trust me, the people here will be looking for it on there if they need it.

NO..an established veteran of the site? i dont think you are unless you reset yout posts..you have no right to diss deev..have you been here long enough to see the damage thats been done? quit being a broke idiot and list your stuff on ebay..listing fees are at MOST 5 bucks..ive sold so much and lost little.he gets money..AND PUTS IT TO THE SITE. he pays out of pocket. i think you need to be banned or leave..just for your pure ignorance. ebay is the safest way to do it..or meet up..if you have something for sale PUT THE ITEMS IN YOUR SIG. then do transactions through pm or off the site. you may have not been scammed but a plethora of people have. do you pay the various fees to get the site running? if not..shut your mouth or leave

hmmm, Ive had nothing but good luck with classifieds here. Spent a nice handful of cash in the last week or so.... Sad to see it go. It was a nice place to find the stuff thats not on ebay.. or if it was on ebay, it was 3x too much and shipping was way over priced.

I guess a nice ebay listings page will work... just gets taxed by ebay.

Someone said something about "listing for cb7tuner users only" make sure that information is easy to find on the page. What about pricing out things... testing the water.. so you can see what "buy it now" price to list items at. I thought that was nice to see what other users thought was a good price for items.

Anyway, Thanks Deev for not leaving us without a buy/sell outlet.

PPS> Honestly, people who whine about getting scammed should be banned for not reading the information right there in the section. It was VERY clear about rules for buying and selling on the forum, that its not the sites concern or responciblilty to police it.... There was even sugested ways to protect themselves from fraud... I can understand the problems caused, I feel for yah man. But they brought it on themselves. If they didnt understand the risk involved then they should have left there wallet in there pocket. There was risk, but there was ways to reduce/illiminate that risk completely.... again, no ones fault but there own.

i think also this website is more of a personell website where you feel you are partially responsible for peoples problems ie people pming you! other forums are so huge it doesnt matter.

i know you have to hear the shit from everyone when stuff happens but

maybe you can put in big letters BUY AT YOUR OWN RISK or something so when people complain you liink them to that end of story

dhn ive been here for a long time longer than you. just because i dont have many posts doesnt mean im not here all the time. i just dont have much to say until i see the site going to shit. i spend most of my time reading and learning. like deev said this is a resource and its a good one. still even though i never bought or sold im protecting the rights of people that have done so and want to keep doing it.


whats better deeve people complaining about getting scammed or people complaining about no classifieds section. you know more people will pm you about this than a hundred scammers

A feedback system will only make the site more involved. The dealings that caused me to make this post resulted from a member with a number of positive vouches, as well as positive feedback in the "people to buy from" thread (which is now gone).

A feedback system will only give a false sense of security. When someone with good feedback decides to scam, or worse, has some sort of unforseen delay and gets called a scammer (resulting in them getting pissed and NEVER sending the stuff), we have no control over it. People start using OUR system to trust sellers... and it's not foolproof. Unlike ebay, when the system fails, we have no way to even attempt to fix the situation.

It's not hard to go through ebay... and you have much more protection. If you get screwed, they can usually refund your money. Then THEY go after the scammer for THEIR money! Why? Because they have the money and power to do so... Here, we have nothing. You can PM me, say "I got scammed"... and I can do nothing. You can tell me you got scammed by my best friend, 2 houses away... and I could do nothing.

I tell people that they should be more careful with thier money, and I get accused of sympathizing with the scammers. I go after the scammers, and nothing happens... aside from me getting a headache.

I removed the classifieds. End of story. People will whine. People will bitch. I expect it. That's why I made this thread, so we can just get it out in the open. The announcement is just to cover EVERY forum, so nobody can miss it (but they will!)

However, unlike the ongoing scammer problem, this will pass. People will eventually just accept it. I may bring the forums back as an ebay-only deal, as I said. That way, people will HAVE to sell on ebay. Any scammer crap can be taken care of through ebay, and kept off this forum. If you got scammed, I don't care. I have nothing to do with it.

A buy it now with a private listing... so only those people you want can bid or buy it. Thats one way, or just open listinging it and hope noone else swoops it up we dont know.
