What do you want to be when you grow up?

My career goals are always changing... This time last year, I was hoping to become a marriage counselor. I still want to, but I don't want to take the necessary steps to get there... not fun.

Currently, I'm working in the unpleasant end of the real estate and financial fields... foreclosures, bankruptcies, reposessions, and insurance losses. I just do field inspections at the moment, but I'm planning on taking classes to get a real estate license. From there, I want to get an appreniceship to become an appraiser. That leaves many doors open for me!

That's crazy Deeve, I'm a real estate appraiser in Canada! When did you get into real estate? I thought you were working in the service industry at a restaurant or something.......

I've been an appraiser for almost 5 years now and I really like it. What are your thoughts about the whole business?

I wanna be in advertising/marketing, or any job that lets me travel alot, i wanna see the world and experience alot of shit, i don't wanna be stuck at a desk i know that. I don't care if i'm rich, jus need enough to live an be happy.

Ah this is the question. Another good question is what did you want to be when you were a kid? I would like to be a mediator or a clinical psychologist, that's what I'm studying and I've always been a good mediator so I'm in the right direction. When I was a kid I wanted to be a spy! Maybe one day I'll work for CSIS (Canadian version of the CIA), but I doubt it, still being a professional spy would be cool

i am going to graduate (hopefully ) from UMR with a degree in mechanical engineering. i hope to go work for a US based formula 1 team when one is created.
my absolute dream job, though, is to work at M5 industries, the place owned by the mythbusters Jamie Heinemen and Adam Savage. the work they do not only on the show but with special effects and advertising is amazing. its too bad they only hire in the bay area (im in fucking missouri ).

I never wanted to be a firefighter, astronaut, or police man. When asked about what I wanted to be I would just say "idk".

I can say the things I dont want to be, but the only thing that I truly would ever wanna be is happy.

I know its not a profession, more like a goal. I spose when I become happy (truly happy) I will be grown up, more of a mental "grown up"

Hey man you can still be a mechanic, maybe one day your bad back will go away and then you can be a mechanic. As for happiness well I think most people strive to be happy, it's a hard thing to be happy all the time, unless you have reached some sort of level of Nirvana, but being truly happy is hard IMO, but if you ever achieve a level of pure happiness I'll be happy for you

thats quite the goal. Your going to have to do something pretty revolutionary to compete with cardomain and autotrader.

though, being a space/science/physics nut, iv always found that quote to be contridictory, being the nearest star (Alpha Centuri A) is about 4 light years away, and it took the first Apollo missions two days to get to the moon.

well ive got reeeeaaaaally bad scoliosis. that never goes away without surgery.

and the surgery would mean long metal rods on the sides of my spine then screwed into my spine.

which means very limited bending and moving, and not being able to lift, etc etc. im so pissed...the doctor wouldnt give me a damn brace that could have slowed the progression, because he said i wouldnt wear it. WHAT THE EVER LOVING PHUCK... that really pisses me off... now i need the surgery when i could have waiting a little longer...
