    who works out here?

ive been hitting the gym 6 days a week as of 2/27(im looking at entering the dating scene for the first time in 7 years).
ive done no dieting but have cut portions down greatly and the result has been an upperbody mass increase and i went from 278 to 258lbs (im 6'3')
i do 30 min of hard cardio and 1hr of weight training every visit.

now my buddy has done the same regiment ive been doing but he hasnt lost a pound(he is fat also). the fucked up part is he is throwing up almost twice the weight on certain machines as myself.

he drinks the powder shakes everyday and i dont at all.

is there a LEGAL way to increase muscle quickly, while still focusing big time on weight loss?

how much calories is he taking in a day? If he's consuming more than he's burning, he wont lose any fat.

I weigh 255 pounds and am 5'7. I started working out 9 months ago and havent lost 1 pound and my caloric intake is way less then what it needs to be to maintain my wieght. I'm in the process of finding out why. I see a dietition and I should have already lost like 30-40 pounds

I lift weights about 3 times a week and bike 10-15 miles a day about 3-4 days a week. When it gets warm I think I'm gonna bike to and from work, which is about 10 miles each way...

I'm about where I wanna be muscle-wise... right now I'm just looking to get more cut and maintain my mass. Exercise-wise I'm pretty good, but I have a very shitty diet and sleep schedule. I think if I could lose about 10# or so I'll be where I wanna be. I should be able to do that by the summer, even with the Pop Tarts and Yodels I eat everyday

I'm gonna try and cut back on the snacks this week and see how I look/feel... that's the hardest part

if i were you, i would spread out cardio and weight training into different/separate days because after cardio, you will be too tired to lift at your best. either separate the days, or do cardio after weights

ive heard this before and i tried it but i just clock watched during the weights and felt to sore to run/stair afterwards.
seperating the two is not an option either as i need cardio everyday for my junkfood/soda intake.
i can lower my consumption but cant stop eating crap because for someone who is obese like myself, the shitty food is a hard habit to control.

First of all...those power shakes are loaded with calories and other weight gaining supplements and should only be used if you are eating like a bird on a regular basis...so you should get that out of your regiment first. Second...you both should put more stress on your cardio then weight training until you get you body fat percentage down to a manageable level...you can weight train, but do not push for high weight yet...go for low weight and high reps. This will keep your heart rate up better and act as another cardio workout while building muscle. I like you use weight that I can do like 25-30 reps with.

If you start building alot of muscle under the fat...it is going to be alot harder to loose the fat...fat weaves itself on top of and between muscle fibers...you need too build those muscles slowly so the fat reduces at the same rate instead of just the stuff in the middle...more cardio, less supplements, and better diet will show you better results in the begining...hope this helps and good luck.
