well aside from my turbo project

We'll being that i have a type s and all i was thinking about taking the extra step and send the motor to 2point6 and have him build it or go local to my guy at T@R racing to have him do my motor build which will consist of

    -skunk2 stage 2 cams
    -valvesprings and retainers
-type s oem pistons if mine are still good which they are im gonna put better rings on them
    -aftermarket carillo rods
    -oem honda bearings
-mill the head a little more at the same time checking for clearance with -some clay dont want any contact there yaknow.
-esp header im not familiar with them but i hear they give gains any opinons on that
    -short ram intake
    -custom exhaust shah style.
ohyeah lets not forget the h23 manual tensioner conversion and throw some D's on dat bitch
-tuned by T@R with phearable ecu goin for 11:5:1

This is on the Type-S? Why? It already has 11.5:1 compression and good cams... if I were you I'd get a $1000 header, a Hondata S300 tune and call it a day, you're well into the 200whp zone with those mods. Hell I bet you're close to that now. There's nothing left for you to do with the Type-S car Mike...

You're not JDM until you have a car built in ohio with tons of bolt ons from ebay.

It's true... sparkle is one of the few people here I know that WOULD drop the money necessary to do the K swap... but he's an F/H man through and through.

I KNOW that Collective Racing does good work, and I truly admire Scott for all he's done. I think if you send the motor there, you'd be happy with the results. They tune for reliability AND power, from what one of the guys there told me (hush22 on the board here, I don't know if he's still with them or not). Many shops will build you a monster, but long-term reliability won't be a major concern. It may last, or it may not... but I'd rather have a shop that takes that into consideration on purpose!

Can you use aftermarket rods on stock pistons? If so, I may have to consider that... I didn't think you could.

Aren't the stock pistons press fit wrist pin's? Aftermarket rods have floating pins. From what i seen the f23 has the floating pins.
And the skunk2 cams arent the just like stock Type S cams?

And if you really want to bump the compression up, I would say go with the mahle gold series pistons....have them custom make them for your application. Or get off the shelf ones.

You guys don't understand sparkle... he's only doing body work to keep his cars from rotting. Plus the sleeper effect is a real ego killer.

The ONLY thing I would think to do is go with a balanced F23 crank, which would warrant new pistons and rods, and would yield an instant 6-7% power gain at the least. But to just rebuild the motor for the hell of it? I dunno.

On the Type-S car...seriously, everything that can be done is done, besides good strut bars. I'd get an H22 long block and build that... then put the Type-S head on it, and sell the Type-S block and regular H22 head. But that's just me...

                    like i said body work

didnt say anything about flashiness did i? NO

body work entails..fixing the rust..ive seen his car...

usually id go for performance but you already have a boosted whip..and a type s....do some bodywork..get the car clean..then continue with the performance

I was thinking of spraying too, but I decided I'm gonna go boost, I can see myself running into too many problems with nitrous, partly because I'm dumb
