there is actually a VERY easy way around this...well its not 100% safe...but like 98% safer then normal.
go to your bank, ask them to flag your card so that whenever it is swiped, it'll show up on the persons screen whos swiping the card, and it will say "verification" or something along those lines, and once they see that, you MUST provide photo ID or else they will not let you use the card.
theres also some credit card companies that put your actual ID ON the credit card, so once they hand you a card...nobody else can use it unless you have an identical twin...
