Ok guys, here's the deal. I found a ridiculous deal on a set of rims and tires. The rims are 18x7.5 giovanni nagano with 225/40/18 toyo proxes FZ4 tires. I found a set for $225 picked up which is insane, I looked them up and a new set of 17's wrapped in some crappy tires were going for 1100 so this deal is obscene. Im not in love with the wheels, but need something cheap for this summer so I have a wider wheel to drive on.

Anywho, the problem is that these are in MD, and I am in CT, which is too far to drive for me right now. What I was wondering is if anyone that is in or around centralNJ would be willing to go pick up the wheels for me at the NJ/MD border. The guy would be willing to driveup to the border. Then, possibly on the same day or at a later date, drive about an hour or an hour and a half north of where you live for me to come pick up the rims. I know I am asking alot, but I will pay for your gas most definitely and would really appreciate this if anyone could help me out.

I know you are all thinking, why don't you just get the wheels shipped? Well, the guy selling them is a new member on the board, and with an object this big, and not seeing any of his vouches, I would really rather pick them up so I know where my money is going exactly. This would be in a couple weekends.

So if anyone is around the trenton, NJ area and would be available to do this I would be sooooooo appreciative! Thx guys!

Well, there is no NJ/MD border. Delaware is in between. MD is almost 2 hours from anyone in Central Jersey. It's an hour from me, and I'm South. An hour and a half North of me is still NJ.

Are the wheels in good condition? 18s are easily bent, and 7.5" wide wheels can do some wicked camber damage on a lowered car (I know, I have a set...) For that price, I wouldn't doubt it if they were pretty well beat up. Those wheels are well over $1000 for the set brand new. I had a set of similarly priced BBS wheels, and they were all bent up. I had to sell a set of 5 for the price of one new one... and 4 of them had decent tires!

If you don't really love the wheels (which aren't really a great brand anyway) why even bother spending the money? Sure, it's a great deal for 18" wheels and decent (not great) tires... but for something you don't really care for, why? Just knock around on your stock wheels for a while, until you can afford a set of big wheels that you really want!


If someone were to do this for you, how would you pay? Would you send money to the person doing the picking up? So you'd be trusting TWO people you don't know, instead of just one? Or would you expect them to front the money, and get reimbursed when they meet up with you? Or just send the money to the seller and hope he meets with your delivery guy?

If someone were to do it, it'd be a few hundred miles round trip. It's 110 miles round trip from my house to Warwick MD, which is one of the closest parts of MD to me. An hour and a half North would be another 130 miles round trip, most likely. That's nearly 250 miles. Are you paying for gas, tolls (about $20 in tolls in that trip), and other expenses? Or more, since most people will not want to take an entire day, or two, of driving for nothing...

The wheels are in pretty good condition from the pics, and they are said to have no bends in them whatsoever. Im getting them because I can probably get what I pay for them back and I'm getting them purely for having a wider tire when I do ym turbo for better handling. I've mapped it out, and if the guy will bring them up to, elkton, MD, which is right at the top of MD, someone in trenton would be driving 85 miles one way. Like I said in ym original post, I would pay for all gas costs and expenses as well as some extra for your time. Also, I would be paying the guy in my paypal for the wheels, so no dealing with physical cashfor whoever would be picking them up for me. I've mapped it out like I said, so that someone would drive a max of 200 miles round trip.

Giovannis are not cheap so for 200$ i wouldnt expect much. Maybe they look good but they are bent. Who knows.

I would deff be down as i dont mind driving but im no where near.

My BBS wheels looked round... but they rode like crap. No lip bends whatsoever, but they weren't round... and BBS wheels are better quality than those.

You're right, though. If they're in good shape, you probably won't have any trouble reselling them.

well, I just thought they were a really good deal that I didn't want to pass up. The guy says they have absolutely no bends, so I have nothing else to go on. Thats why I wanted to pick them up or have someone pick them up, so that they could be looked at and checked over. He says they only have minor flaws so we will see. I'll try to give them a good polishing and worse case scenario, I powdercoat them black lol. If they end up being bent, I'll just automatically resell them and I'll have all the boxes from the shipping too lol.
