    studyin for finals, need to make sure i'm right on some shit.

    8 & 2/3 * 3 & 9/10 (eight and two thirds times 3 an nine tenths)

    i got 33 and 165/169

    also reduce 77/121 i cant find a number both are divisible by.

    solve for N, n/3 = 5/2 when i use / its supposed to be a fraction. i got 7.5 tho.

    Part one: I got 33 & 24/30 which will simplify down to 33 & 4/5..

    Part two: I got 7/11..

    Thank god for Fraction calculators or I would still be in like 8th grade. Later

            I'm not sure if this is what you need, but 7.5 in a fraction is 15/2

                to validate MadSpleen:

                8 2/3 * 3 9/10 = 33 4/5

                (thank you online fraction calculator: http://www.helpwithfractions.com/fra...alculator.html)

                77/121 both are divisible by 11, therefore reducing to 7/11

                5/2= 2.5
                2.5*3=7.5
                n= 7.5 which in fraction is 7 1/2

                    OMG! Change mixed numbers to improper fractions, much easier to work with, unless you are in 6th grade.

                      169ths?

                      How on earth did you get to that?

                      Common denom is 30.

                      260/30 times 117/30 = 30420/900 = 33.8

                      77/121 is 7/11

                      N/3 = 5/2 Common denom is 6

                      2N/6 = 15/6
                      2N=15
                      N=15/2

                      Is this grade school stuff?

                        I think I'm the only one who would solve the first equation this way, change 8 2/3 to 8.66... then change 3 9/10 to 3.9 Multiply the two numbers. The trick is to know your fractions.

                          to multiply the fractions by hand you first have to turn them into improper fractions. 8 and 2/3 becomes 26/3. 3 and 9/10 becomes 39/10. you can now reduce the numerator and denominator and get 13/1*13/5. this is equal to 169/5 or 33 and 4/5.
