    to be honest, i like both....its just a matter of what exactly you are using each for. i just bought a hp laptop the other day, basically because i just need it to surf the net, and mess around here and there. but for school stuff, like video editing and stuff, i prefer to use a Mac. just my 2 cents...

          I hear no one makes malware for macs. Thats why they are attacked less. Same for linux. Both are unix based though. Unix based systems are used in many mission critical machines. HP-UX, BSD, so on.

          You're not limited to just one, why not use all operating systems!

          Then at the end of the day, if you want, you can pick one you get along with best.

          Maybe one looks nicer, maybe one is easier to understand, maybe one gets your work done faster, maybe one has the highest resolution available for your pr0ns.

          i try to just smile, and say everything’s fine.

            well...I love the Mac users that praise their great operating system. I like Mac OS, it's pretty and well laid out. I use it on my PC. Kind of line Nikes.......they are nice to look at, but will do the same functions as a pair of Vans, but cost 4 times more.

            Mac sells style....PC's sell functionality.

              I use it on my PC too. The thing about it is, it runs BETTER than windows does. Im talking XP, not Vista. I use it more for the apps, well one in particular, called Adium. its an AWESOME AIM client, that doesnt really have an equal in windows. I like Mail and iCal too, but those arent really all that necessary, theyre just convenient.

              the ONLY thing that irks me is that I cant get .wmv's that are embedded in the browser to play. QE/CI doesnt work any more either (It did with my 10.4.7 install), but thats not really a big deal.

                      i owe both. i recently got a macbook pro mainly so i can improve on my final cut pro.

                      macs are stylish but pretty functional too i think. i have been hooking up all kinds of devices to my laptop and never had to install one driver and they all worked flawlessly - pretty cool. also the idea of uninstalling stuff by just dragging it to the trash is awsome. if there is other stuff that that can be left behind then there usually is an uninstaller.

                      as for playing embedded .wmv files try installing a plugin called flip4mac. it worked for me and it plays all embedded .wmv files

                          Windows = Gaming
                          Mac = Editing

                          That'll do!

                            yeah, I have that. I even bought it thinking it would work if I wasnt just using the free plugin.

                            its not really that big of a deal honestly.

                              eh....I've seen games (half life 2) on macs and it's very impressive. I have all the 'popular' editing programs on my PC. A NEW Mac will do just about everythind a PC can do. Simple as that....They are both great platforms, but the Mac OS might have a little bit more limitations that should be taken care of in the next few versions.

                              I'll always root for the 'underdog'...Macs are great computers, but cost too damn much to justify purchasing.
