As some of you may know, I bought a cargo rack from an accord wagon from UKAccord in February of '06. He was supposed to ship upon receiving pymnt and sale would be done. I did my homework and pm'd some of the guys who had bought from him and heard nothing but good things and while I am a little so-so on buying off forums I figured this would be no problem.
A month goes by and no cargo rack, all the while Rich telling me it has shipped and it takes a long time since it's overseas so even though I'm a bit irritated I wait.....and wait......and wait. Now 4 months have gone by with nothing. Rich has given me excuse after excuse on why it's taking so long, finally admitting he hasn't shipped yet because of funds. Apparently he took the $180.00 I paid him and promptly spent it and now couldn't afford to ship my cargo rack. I'm pissed but I want the rack so bad I send him an additional $40.00 to get it in the mail asap. Now 8 months have gone by with nothing. Rich is ignoring my pms and laughing in my face about this so I start whoring every f/s he creates to let everyone know of the potential problems they might ecounter if buying from him. After nearly a year Rich agrees to ship the rack in multiple pkgs to save on shipping and supposedly sends one out. Guess what, no pkg after 3 weeks. It has now been over a year with nothing and Rich is telling me it's going to take more time to file a loss claim with the post office. He will not refund me out of his pocket, saying he doesn't have the money but somehow he managed to sell his car and pick up a JDM Prelude which I'm sure cost something out of pocket. I have no proof a pkg. was ever shipped and he is making no effort to resolve this other than telling me to wait some more.
I'm just wondering what would you do if you were in his position? I'd ask what you'd do if you were in mine, but I can't do a damn thing so if you were Rich what would you do? I personally would want to keep a good rep on this site so I'd do everything in my power to take care of the customer but that's me. WHAT WOULD YOU DO?
