Some one help me convince my girl

sorry about the influx of threads on my part, this this is something thats been buggin the crap out of me

would you guys help me, convince my girl into NOT getting a 3000GT

I told her not to, and she said "why?"

"because its a mitsubishi..."

"And you drive a toyota...? I dont get it??" <- her

the deal is that her cousin has an NA 300GT. he thinks hes a racer, whole nother story...

well. she likes it... wants one in a deep purple... and id much rather her spend money on something better. shes open into the idea of getting a mustang or a new gen 300C. so im tossing that to her i know ultimately its what makes her happy. but i i want to help her make a good, sensible decision.

her argument is that "its inexpensive, its twin turbo. and its sleek"

if you guys could, give me some "justifiable" evidence that the 3000GT is not a good car.

should be easy, but just incase i missed something

i see nothing wrong with the 3000 GT .. i know there is a lot of maintenance involved with that.. especially the turbo'd ones.. i wouldnt get a n/a 3000 gt it would have to be a vr4... but i know they have to be gas guzzlers!

one of my best friends owns a 94 na 3000gt... it is the biggest pos ive ever seen hard to work on... unreliable and slow he will tell u himself that it has been a big waste of money

Ever try to work on one?? I'd rather have my balls cut off with a dull rusty knife by a 90 year old blind woman with arthritis.

stop trying to control her. let her make her own decisions. If she wants to waste her money then let her. If its a bad investment, then she will learn from her mistakes. Hopefully.

I don't think he's trying to control her. He's not saying "You HAVE to buy a Honda or else..." He's just trying to look out for her best interest. If he lets her buy that POS without telling her what a POS it is, then either he will end up working on it all the time, or forking over lots of money to a repair shop all the time.


lil_dcb7, If you really want to convince her that it's not a good car to buy. fine someone that owns one and let her talk to them. Let her hear the stories for her self of all the problems. If that don't work and she still insist on buying it. then let her know up front that you will NOT touch the car for any repairs for any reason what-so-ever and you will not pay one cent for any repair bills.

Why don't you tell us YOUR reasons for not wanting her to get one?
How the manufacturers name is spelled isn't very convincing.

Don't be Jealous she will havea newer and better car than yours hahaha i keed. But yea mitsus arent reliable at all especially the NA 3kgt same as the twins. Just like J spec said. MY friends NA was slow but it looked good lol haha and in the end his wiring harness burned up somehow lol and he didnt rag on it that much haha. POS I tell ya.

ya, what are your reasons? Personally I wouldnt get one cause its not my style car, but I own 2 galant vr-4's and love them.

i am not a fan of 3000gt's, let alone a NA 3000gt, but to say to not get a car based on brand is something i would expect from a die-hard GM or ford enthusiast. (the ones with a huge chevrolet/ford decal on their rear window) to me it sounds like you want everyone here to rationalize your bias against mitsubishi motors.

Well there are some good mitsu cars. I particularly like the 1g gsx/gst if not galant vr4s like so which had the 4g63. But yea. The diamante was a nice car for cruising haha we had one we worked on at our school pimpstarr i tell you. But thats as far as my mitsu lineup goes and cant forget the Evo.
