It is pretty stupid and sad when we have to pass a mandate to prevent people who are stupid from getting hit in crosswalks, as opposed to expecting them to actually be accountable for their own stupidity.

I bet it wouldn't take more than 1 or 2 well publicized iPOD related accidents to give people an incentive to pay attention to what they hell they are doing!

I love legislation that dumbs us down for "our own protection." If ever there was a government conspiracy, this is it. Eventually they will dumb us down to the point where we will all be drooling on ourselves.

i think it's more of a hazard rather than stupidity. sure people should look when they step out into the road.....they don't look ipod or not.

when ever i wear ear plugs to protect my hearing, i notice i become a bit more clumsy because i can't hear subtle things that normally keep my aware of things...and that's without music playing in my ear.

they just banned ipods at my work, but then i work around cars where bad accidents can happen fast. everytime i would talk to a co-worker, they would say, ''huh'' and pull the headphones out of their ears. later.
