Friendly fire in Iraq

Let me say first, if you don't wish to see this, don't watch it, leave the thread now.

You don't see anything really, but you hear the cockpit voice recordings. This is a friendly fire incident on british forces from '03.

I'm not instigating anything, but something like this can drive home the fact that we need better communication for the guys on the ground.

i saw this earlier on liveleak.. what pisses me off.. is they did not have PID. PID stands for postive identification... i was in iraq and this was drilled in our brains... if you do not have PID.that is in fact an enemy you do not open fire..plain and simple...

these fucking trigger happy a10 pilots did not have PID.. in fact they questions there targets..and said... it appears they have orange rockets.. what fuckin country has tactical ''orange rockets''... the ''orange rockets'' where in fact orange panels on the vehicles.. so the a10s would not engage them...

officers have degrees but it doesnt make them smart.. i remember dealing with an f16 pilot when i was in afghanistan who was on his ''ground tour''.. and he was a fuckin complete idiot and geek.. i wish i could have punched hi s ass..but enought with that..lol....

another thing that pisses me off.. is reading that the wife of l/cpl hull was told no video of the incident exists...and now it appears on the net.. im glad it was leaked.. shit like this needs to be exposed more often

It sounded like the guy with rank was gung-ho to fire upon them, the other guy had a thousand doubts in his mind, but I think he was basically ordered to.

You're right they didn't get "PID", he requested ID though...he kept saying orange panels, orange panels, I see orange..the other guy was saying I don't see anything...

Something like this can haunt the rest of your days, some can't bear it and put a gun in their mouth soon after returning home...
