98 accord intake

my girlfriend wants a intake but she doesnt want deep like the one i have im running a three inch. piping and a knock off filter for now. Should i get a smaller diameter piping or jus put a filters on the original piping to quite it down?

well, either way its gonna be louder than stock.

i say...just take the resonator box out and drill holes in the stock airbox :o

is it a v6 or 4 cyl? i used to own a 98 v6 and when i put the CAI at WOT it was loud as balls. Honestly, putting a cone filter on the end of stock piping is kinda useless, just gonna be a really ghetto SR, as far as piping diameters i guess you could fins the same size as the oem stuff in aluminum, but thats also kinda pointless dont you think? a regular CAI will probably be quietest.

Just throw an intake on. Normal driving should be fine but when she gets on it thats the only time I would think it would be "loud"

why does she want an intake? you either get the intake and sound that come with it OR nothing at all... cant have your cake and eat it too.

if shes set on an intake, the only thing you can do is get a coldair. itll be deeper and sound quieter, since it wont be resonating from the engine bay. but bottomline, if she doesnt want the noise, tell her shes sol... even taking the stock resonator off will drastically increase sound output.
