ok so since my mustang was completely trashed its all a mess the ripped wires and i dont know whats what now.

i have no experience with this what so ever and thats why im asking.
does anyone know how good carbuerated engines are? i think it would be easier for me but i dont know does anyone have any knowledge about these.

what would be the main thing to stop me from putting a carberated v8 in my stang?

the mustang has always been my saturday night car, because it wont make it past one day and when it brakes down parking is leanient on sundays lol! i tried driving it to school everyday and it definately didnt work.

so what im saying is. i dont care about gas mileage...

although i still want it to be sporty not sound like a pos 5.0

Hey, 5.0's are good engines too.... I don't have a Mustang but I have a '78 F-150 with a carbureted 302 (5.0) and it's a fantastic engine. It's not as powerful as the factory option 460 they offered for trucks like mine but it's still a great motor and it's very reliable.

well assuming that your stang is a 5 liter this is a very simple swap, all you need is a intake manifold and a carburetor

i would suggest getting both new because they are not that expensive or if your budget is tight you could easily find a carbureted manifold in the junkyard even though i still suggest a new carb

if your worried about fuel economy you could always get a 2 barrel carb but a 4 barrel would perform better

nice bro, no mine was a 4.6 the orignal motor was replaced for a new well rebuilt new one anwyays it was a single cam 4.6 and the motor has been stripped and wires have been ripped. so i cant really keep anything if you know what i mean...

but i just want to know if carberuater is not going to be ghetto

and what i mean by ghetto is when i go to take my girlfriedn to the movies friday night the car is going to run smooth and not make gas smells and drive like shit sometimes. i mean i want not necassary reliability but a very built and smooth running engine and i always thought carberuated (sp?) engines ran all funny...

no it wont funny at all, carburetors are actually very reliable. thats why i suggest getting a new one, i've had carbs on most of my cars and had very little problems. you could get one with electronic choke and she should run smooth as butter.

those rumors that carbs run like shit are mostly carbs that have been laying around forever and get slapped on a car and the jets are clogged stuff like that. i've been into old school cars and a lot of the cars running hard at the track are carbureted
