    04 Maxima SE or 03 A4 1.8T

    04 15,00 34000 miles or 03 44 13,000
He guys im looking to purchase an alternate car and am stuck between an 04 Maxima Se with 34,000 going for $15000 and an 03 A4 1.8T with 44,000 miles going for$13000 both are manual> I would like some input on which would be better to own and modify. Have any of you heard anything bad on either car? The only thing I know is that the Audi would probaly cost more to maintain!

The Audi will definitely be more expensive to own, once the warranty is up (I'm sure both cars will be covered for a little while at least). Audi cars share much of their parts with their parent company, Volkswagen. Therefore, you can probably find some cheaper parts... of course, VW isn't all that cheap either!

The Audi probably has a bit more performance potential, as well as an aftermarket. If you want power, the Maxima is nice out of the box, but there isn't as great an aftermarket for it (still some decent stuff availible, but Maximas aren't nearly as popular tuner cars as Audis) The Maxima is also FWD, so if you plan on making big power, you're limited somewhat by that. Additionally, the Maxima is fairly heavy.

I don't know what I would choose, myself. I'm actually a HUGE Maxima fan. I've always liked them. Even the old ones. I've never cared much for Audis, though I can appreciate a nice one.

The best advice I can give is to test drive both and see which you like best! Both are great cars in their own right.

He's not looking at an Altima. The Maximas only came in 3.0 or 3.5 V6 in 04.

Even better ( I just took a quick look at the generation)

In my research, I also saw that it seems the 95-99 model is lighter than the 00-04 AND the 90-94. The 95-99 is a little more than 3000lbs, while the other two are about 3200.

95-99 is Cheaply made compared to 00 and up or 89-94 generation.

If you had the chance to sit in a 3rd gen(89-94) and then sit in a 4th gen (95-99) you will know the difference. The 4th gen is cheap, the seats, the ride, the interior, everything. Compare a fully loaded 3rd gen with a fully loaded 4th gen u will see the difference.

And to the OP, Style wise I would rather get an audi. They look better than the maxima and has the fit and finish of a real luxury car.

well ive been in both these cars since my dad owns a 03 Maxima and my uncle owns an 03 Audi A4 (3.0 Turbo tho). the thing is that there both auto . i have to say that the Maxima is actually pretty quick for such a big car. however it does like to use up a lot of gas. the Audi is QUICK and is a smaller. like said before me, the Audi also has more aftermarket support than the Maxima. so in the end it is your choice even though i personally like the Audi a bit better.

Get the A4 that car is my favorite. IMO way better than the Maxima in so many ways. I've personally driven two different manual A4 Audi's before and I loved them sure the repairs might be high but who knows for sure jump on the Audi and for that price is awesome for some good old German engineering.

I would have to disagree...maybe the lower end models...but I had a fully loaded '95 SE 5spd and that felt luxurious as fuck. The motor was smooth, the leather looked good, the system bumped...

A '98 with an I30 interior (rear headrests) is basically an Infiniti
