yea lol even if it takes you like 20 seconds to get there for whatever reason any car can cruise at like 85 which will certainly get you a ticket in most places. I don't know why you keep saying an accord isn't fast enough to have a radar detector... anyways I think my valentine one was one of my best investments... I also had similar idea as phatdoughnut at first, usually I would just follow the faster cars and make sure I was never the fastest, but I got a ticket for 83 in a 65... really not that much over, and everyone around me was going 80 also but he just singled me out I guess... well anyways after beating the ticket and only having to pay a $40 parking ticket (parking on the new york state thruway
) I decided to take the $ I saved and buy my detector. haven't been pulled over since... knock on wood. If I had lost that though, the fine itself is probably close to 200 now a days plus so much more on top of that in insurance. So I decided it was worth it. has saved me many times btw.

and yea about v1 vs. passport they pretty much picked up at the same time, maybe one a little earlier for some things, and sometimes the other a little earlier... My dad has the passport so yes I compared them side by side and those are my personal findings. as for false alarms there are some but its basically only x band which I pretty much ignore 99% of the time anyway. It also has a mode where the x band is muted unless its really strong so that basically mutes all falses. then the only other difference is the arrows which I do find to be pretty helpful in most situations. is it worth like 100 more? I don't know, but I got a nice deal on it used for 300 and it was the latest version with everything looked brand new.HSHO #3Comment

I got it for a 49 in a 25, that'll be a nice one. State has already warned me about my points. Looks like driving school for me.

wow you're wrong buddie. V1 beats the escort. And with the v1 you can turn off any bands you want. to not have false alarms..

Beats the V1 in all the tests...it's $100 cheaper than the Valentine too...
The only thing the V1 has on the escort are the directional arrows.... I have a friend with a V1 and they perform roughly the same... one is better in certain instances and the other is better in other instances... the difference is very slight... but just having driven his car for a week... I like the escort better... less false alarms IMO...

you can turn off whatever band you want on the escort too...
and adjust the sensitivity of each band....

If so... all I've got to say to that is if you want to pay 400 for a radar detector then have at it dood... I understand that you're just grumpy about the whole thing because I paid less and got something just as good...
if not better...
