Sheesh, asking what others pay for health insurance is about as pointless as asking what others pay for car insurance considering the HUGE range of plans and coverages.

For about $50 a month you should be able to get a PPO with say a 5k deductible. Means you're responsible for the first 5k and maybe 10% of costs beyond 5k....naturally that varies plan by plan. This is probably you're best bet if you're young, healthy and not stupid.

That's only the basic immediate health costs that are covered.

Haha that was funny. How much in taxes do you guys have to fork out? Does it even out compared to paying a premium?

All i pay is 32 dollars in union dues a month and me and my wife are covered.

That still tells us nothing about how good your coverage is

                          WHY DOES NOBODY UNDERSTAND THAT?!!?!?

Really? Short and long term disability?

I got hit by a car on Friday, and missed three days work.
Who's paying for that? Her insurance...eventually. What if I was off for a month?

And if I just slipped by myself? Would my provincial health care provide income replacement? Nope.

                            Would yours?
