    Virus Help?

Yeah, so, I think I have a virus. I have Symantec AntiVirus and I ran a full system check and it came up with nothing. These friggin' things keep popping up and I know they're just virus pop-ups so I just close them out. Ideas?

I used adaware when I was using windows. It worked wayy better than McAfee or Norton ever did, and it was free. I suggest running that.

adaware, spybot and ccleaner do full system scan after updating them and then remove all the shit, and then the ones u cant remove search the net for removal techniques.

I appreciate it, guys. I downloaded Ad-Aware SE and it found a bunch of junk that Symantec didn't notice. I deleted everything that came up, even the ones that were labeled "not a threat." I think Ad-Aware took care of it because since I installed it, did a couple different types of scans, deleted EVERYTHING it found, restarted, scanned again, and found nothing, I haven't seen the pop-ups. We'll have to see the final result when I start the computer tomorrow. Thanks, guys!

Download Spybot S&D as well.... it sometimes picks up stuff that Ad-aware misses.

Damn, that sucks. We used Zone Alarm (although the new one slowed our computer down to hell) and we didn't get anything. Also we use AVG Free for virus protection. And for adware and spyware I use AdAware 6.0 and Spyware Doctor (I bought it, seems to work good). If all else fail you should be able to open up the registry and do some research to what
s supposed to be there and what's not. I've had to mess with the registry in the past a couple of times, before I downlaoded al the protection software.

yeah i use a combination of Adware Pro, Spybot and Spyware Blaster to kill all spyware.

then i use Cookie Wall to block all cookies unless i tell it it's ok.

                  don't go to questionable sites.
i have been running nothing in ways of virus or malware stuff.

it's better to just back up and swipe the bitch.
uh... if by overboosted you mean "right the fuck on" then, sure, it is.

I definitely try to stay away from questionable sites but ACC0RD22 told me to get Ad-Aware from download.com and I did and it works well.

nod32 is ok. def not the best, but its up there. I had it, but still got a virus. I also had zone alarm, it sucked.

kapersky is awesome if you can get a working key. but they have found a way to not let fake keys work.

I now use AVG. even the free version is awesome. but i got the latest and full version. it pwns all.
