You wouldn't even have to hook up the throttle...just let the clutch out and let it idle you to where you need to go, and you won't have to worry about maintenance. Plus you'll prob. get better gas mileage. An LS1 FC is on my list of cars to own before I die.

An LS1 RX-7 is kind of like a Toyota powered Honda. It ruins the charachter. IMO.
The OFFICIAL how to add me to your ignore list thread!

      Bleechh...

For me, it's whatever works. An F22C powered AE86 is another car I at least want to drive before I perish. That would actually make for a decent RX-7 too, keeping in tune with the revvy nature of the motor. There aren't any kits for that swap though.

Well, I went to see it today. Drove it. Got the price down a bit...

And honestly, I don't like it. Maybe it's just that one (a $2000 FC may not be the prime example...) but it didn't impress me.

The engine was strong, and seemed to be in great shape. Other than that, eh...

It used to be red. It is now VERY poorly painted blue (looks OK, but the red is showing where the blue is flaking off). The interior is alright, except for the ripped passenger seat. Driver's seat is oddly well preserved. Top is ripped slightly in 2 places where it meets the rest of the car. One of the two tailpipes wasn't quite right... leading me to believe it was a crappy replacement job... or an accident. The body is nearly dent-free, which also makes me think accident.

The shifter was sloppy (bad bushings, I expected that), I THINK I felt a grind in third, but it may have been the notchiness of the shifter. The brakes were good, but the seemed to work hard. The clutch was new, but the pedal feel wasn't to my liking.

The wheels and tires were in great shape.

The killer was that the hood and trunk wouldn't open with the switches. Trunk isn't too bad, but the hood? He said you need someone to pull the hood open while someone is pulling the lever... NOT good when I'm driving alone and need to get under there! I'm sure I can fix it, but I'm not looking for a fixer.

The engine wasn't as much fun as I had hoped. I wasn't expecting much but the lack of low end really WAS annoying!

Rotaries still fascinate me, but I think I'll wait for the day when I can afford a turbo rotary toy to own one.

Still planning on selling the Volvo. I'll save what I get from it, sock it away, and wait until I have about $4000. That will get me a decent VR4 or turbo MR2. Not that I've driven either of those before...

Let a rotary breathe, and exhale....They will gain a lot of low-end torque. Look for an FB with a 13B...That's way fun!
