I still love the way it looks. It's a VERY nice car... but I just don't enjoy driving it. I feel like I'm hurting it when I step on the gas! It's like asking your beautiful but lazy girlfriend to do something for you...

I got it to be reliable, efficient, comfortable, and something I didn't hate driving. So far, it has been perfectly reliable. There seems to be an oil leak, but since I've owned it, the levels have not changed... so it's not anything to be concerned about. It probably gets 1-2 mpg more than a rotary will, and 3-8 less than the NA MR2 (the 1st gen) should get. It IS comfortable... it would be more so if the heat worked!
The enjoyment factor is apparently quite important to me. I just have no love for this car. I look at it and say "man, that's a nice car!" I sit in it and say "yeah, this is comfy!" I drive it and say "oh yeah... now I remember..."

If I get an RX7, will I play with it? Probably. Still, the first 3 days I had the Volvo, I priced all sorts of performance things... It's in my blood. I have to accept the fact that I WILL mess with whatever I get! My wife can have the bone-stock car.
I don't intend on going nuts with whatever I get. I still want to make the CB7 into the monster I envision. Still, I'll probably do some basic stuff to whatever car I find myself with. If I get a turbo car, I'll most likely get a good boost controller at the very least!

ok ok.... Have you looked into the Volvo 850....I think they are great looking cars, and really handle well. There are 5 speed options available, but are non turbo. more food fer thought.

Maybe you jumped the gun when deciding on getting the car. I've learned myself that when tuning a car is in your blood it will always come back no matter the car. I'm sure phempa would learn this lesson soon . From a financial standpoint, keeping the car would be better that is if you can't sell it for more or if more problems arise. But I agree that the satisfaction of the car is very important. No reason to drive something you don't like. Maybe switch cars with the wife? I'm sure there are tons of parts for your newer Accord that or save up and get the 3 series you wanted.

Well, my initial reasons for getting the car were that it was nice, comfy, reliable, affordable, and reasonably efficient. It wasn't too bad of a drive when I first tried it out... though I nearly got rear-ended by a Civic coming out of the lot... a testament to the lack of guts the car has. And it's not as fuel efficient as I had hoped (seller claimed 36mpg... I knew it should get about 24, but I was hopeful... 24 is right on the money). If it got 36mpg, I would deal with it.

Ricer, if it wasn't a Civic, I'd consider it! The B18 sounds nice, but I just traded in my wife's 95 Civic because I absolutely hated it!

HondaB18, I wish I could trade with the wife! She doesn't mind the Volvo, but she'd shoot me if I suggested beating her new car to death with this new job of mine! I want to save for something nicer ($4000 would get me my 3 series, a VR4, a turbo MR2, a turbo FC... LOTS of good options!) However, I'm really in need of something else at the moment so I don't totally destroy the CB7! I'm keeping an eye out for good deals, like the Volvo, that I can at least sell for a profit if necessary!

verothacamaro, you don't go up in post count for OT posts. If your count hasn't increased, that means you haven't posted anywhere that counts! And the 850 is nice. I love how it looks... but RWD was one of the major draws of this car for me.

get a 96 VW jetta VR6. my friend has one, and its an absolute beast. stock. it really scares me, it easily keeps up with another friends turbo sentra. wont beat it i dont think, but it will keep the hell up thas for sure!!! however, VW parts cost as much as a honda, so...yeah... just my 2 cents u know?

VWs aren't terrible to repair, but aftermarket is pretty crazy. If I ever got a VW from the 90s, it would be a turbo Passat. Those things are sweet VR6 isn't all that great. Honestly, though... a VW Corrado would be my #1 choice if I went VW.

Legend coupe would be sweet... 5 speed or auto?

Went to fix the heater today... it's not the blower. Now I'm thinking resistor or relay.

KBB for this car is $2500, so that's cool That's what I'm asking for it!

8.7 FWD? 1/4 or 1/8? If that's a quarter mile time, that's damn near professional! Actually, that could compete professionally (just not win overall )

I had an old rabbit once... I never drove it. I wish I had (though I may never have become a Honda guy if I did!) It was technically my first car. My dad used to work for his best friend, and one day his friend couldn't pay him... so he gave him his daughter's old Rabbit. My dad set it aside for me, but I never had any interest in learning how to drive it.
