I tend to circumvent the waiting by sucking on the ice. not nearly as effective, but im way less thirsty.

Also, When you dont feel like leaning forward to get something in the bowl in front of you when youre on the couch, so you pick it up with your feet and bring it to your hands.

I buy ramen in the cup because all I have to do is put water in it an microwave, and theres no cleanup required.
