T or F: F22 most reliable Honda Engine

k i wasn't quite sure what forum to put this in, so move it if nessasary(sorry)

one of my friends told me that he heard the F22 is the most reliable and dependable Honda engine ever made?
    This true?
Also said the average life for the engine is 200-300k miles?

I could beleve it... I probably see more cars with F series engines in em than I do D series... The old Civics are breaking down now, but I rarely see a CB7 that's not running. The few F engines that I've seen that had died were owned by people who think oil is optional.

All I know is Volvos run forever. My dad used to work at a dealership. Well while he was there this guy would come in for routine matenance (I aggree with whoever said that is the key) and he had well over a million miles on it. The things most critical to making a car last is to keep the engine cool as possible and as lubricated as possible.

My wife's brother got a mitibushi 3000GT, ran it for a couple months and never checked the fluids. Then he was suprised when his transmission locked up on him. Both the engine and tranny was bone dry.

my uncle has 425k on his f22a1.

drives it at least 600 miles a week.
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

WOW!!! I thought mine was bad enough... lol

Like what my brother told me- "mileage is just a number, it's how you take care of your car that counts"....

well he doesnt take care of it...its black..dirty...dirty inside....just now i started cleaning out the engines intake systems.

still runs though...tranny shifts a little high though....so thats probably gong to go bad in a few years.

yeah the f22 is a good engine....strong block and strong internals, not a bad stock setup for a turbo, could push 7-8 psi consistently, maybe more, im not sure. i have like 188k and it still runs like a beauty

Thats so cool. We should split the cost of one of those guages that takes the compression tests. I'm at 121K

i totally agree on regular maintenance being the key...just look at my sig

not only that but we have two other cars, domestic...85 chrylser new yorker and 87 mercury sable wagon that both have well over 200,000 miles

guess who does the reg. maintenance on all of them??
