whats better??? hdmi or component???

right now im using component cables, but the picture produced doesnt look as good as when i had video feeding from my computer through vga.

if i used a hdmi cable from dvd player to tv... would it be equal in quality as the vga was?

vga is analog, component is also analog (though a better analog than composite or s-video). hdmi and dvi are digital and look by far the best if you have a hdtv.

HDMI, its the only way to get a digital signal to a HDTV. Unless of course you have a DVI.

If you don't yet have an hdmi cable, monoprice.com sells em for a reasonable price. I've heard good things about them.

hdmi carries audio too, cant beat that.
